Has anyone tried the "CompUSA" Ram cooling Kits, SKU #291979. The instructions are on the back but sorta confusing & it looks like the local store techs are also confused about the instructions. The advertisement online states they are manufactured by FMI. Searching the net I think its Fujitsu.
Thanks, You answered my question! That "spacer" really thru me off. After checking out the Thermaltake site & one of their memory cooling kits, I came to the same conclusion about single sided memory.

I recall being confused by the instructions myself and so was the clerk. My recollection is there was a part, a piece of double-sided tape I think, that was not addressed in the instructions. I can't locate that part at the site to verify this but I think I concluded that the sink was designed for double-sided memory. In that case, they probably intended for the extra tape to act as a spacer on the unpopulated side of a single-sided stick. The spacer would be necessary for a proper fit.
Some manufacturers will void the warranty for adding a cooler. In my case, I ran a test to see if ram overheating was causing a problem and it was not so I did not buy the device.

Thanks for the Info! If I don't find the instructions needed, It'll go on my shelf to disappear along with the other stuff I never use. Hopefully these will never become obsolete.

I would be very surprised if Fujitsu had lowered themselves to CompUSA's level.
That "FMI" name is used as the manufacturer for CompUSA branded products all the way from keyboards to power supplies and everything in between. I can guess that they buy in large quantities from many manufacturers who are willing to provide CompUSA labeling for a nominal increase in the cost of the product.
The ram cooling kit looks very similar to a Thermaltake product. You might check the Thermaltake website and compare the two and then go from there.

The truth is out there. You just have look in the right places and ask the right questions.
