In order to troubleshoot the circuit ,I need a diagram.Unit dead.Once the power switch is turned on theres a transistor that switches to 7 tens of a volt on the base? No switching on the collector? If I purposely inject + 15 volt to the input of the 8 volt regulator the unit gets power, the 8 volt regulator was number AN7808
SOURCE: My unit is a Crosley
If all the mechanics appear in order then the fault is in the preamplifier or its power source - check all the components and the voltage. Also you could add extra capacitors to better filter the power - the "warbling" might be the ripple from the power source.

If you just received it? I would return it. You have done everything i would have done. If its brandnew? I would deffinately return it. You don't want to void warranty.
SOURCE: Hello, I am repairing a Crosley
Hi, let me know the motor part code which is stamped on the side of it. I should have one that will fit. [email protected]

I need the diagram of the circuit to follow how the switching takes place.Trouble shooting a circuit is easy for me with a diagram.I;ve been an electronics tech since 1978.I can fix a lot of stuff with no schematic, this time I need a diaqgram. It's like trying to find your way around a foreign country without a road map and no Quick trip to stop and ask directions.I did find out that the 8 volt regulator is only in the circuit during cd player operation. The unit is dead and wont come on in any function.
A schematic is an electronic layout of the circuit.power switch leads to the bace of a transistor Q501 for an example and there is a Capacitor C503 I'm making this up .By looking at this Layout of the circuit a Technician can trouble shoot the faulty part by testing voltages and taking resistance measurments.I obtain schematics for lots of brands of products through parts distributors.Any genuis out there might know who supports Croxsley where a Schematic can be obtained?THats about as detailed a message as I can leave for your team of experts ,thanx Jeff Zepp's electronics repair.
I fixed it myself with no schematic
