It may not be the machine, but, rather the pods. I have had occasion where the problem was the sme, and the k-cups were heavier than normal when removed, as though there was a manufacturing problem particular to that particular type of k-cup. Try a variety of different k-cups and see if this can be narrowed down to one particular brand. My issue was with the Kona type, and it was limited to some cups in one box. The only other thing I might suggest would be to check that th opening from the pod to you coffee cup is open by passing a wire through it.

Make sure the needle in the bottom of the K cup holder is not missing, broken or bent. Also, look at your used K cup when it comes out. Is there a hole in the top and the bottom? It sounds like the pressure is building up within the K cup due to a backup at the bottom of it. This could also occur if the bottom needle hole is obstructed. Be careful...the needles are sharp!
