Issues like this have different causes...it may have been a damage video adapter, an incompatible/damage video driver or a broken LCD screen. And since its just over a month that you bought the notebook....try to check with the store were you bought it and ask for any warranties...they will repair it for free or replace it with a new one (hope its not HP this time :) ).

Also, check for any dust in the fan (hit sink), this also causes overheating the video chips and may lead to vertical lines in the monitors.

Your laptop have screws surrounding the fan...at the back (bottom) of your laptop. unscrew them and you can clean you fan....you can use a portable vacuum to **** dust in it.

The virtcale line stabilizer went out of the monitor and it mite be cheaper to fix than to buy a new monitor unless your looking to buy a new lcd monitor with more resulation or better graphics and more color options.

go on line and find on on ebay to buy with a gaurentee on the screen for you notebook

This is a fault in the LCD itself. Since you just purchased it, call HP (1.800.hpinvent) and they will fix it for you. Thanks and please remember to rate this solution with a rating of fixya. :c)

Probably the tft screen, this can be easily tested by plugging an external screen in. If they both give the same issue, you have a GPU issue.

HP Pavilion DV9810us laptop screen gets pink candy cane lines when not flipped to a specific position.

On hp laptops it is the ribbon cable under the quick button panel that is loose. Causing pink lines when not in the correct position.

Hp laptop, dv6000 series..volume button gone pink!

Usually when the volume button is pink(orangey) it means that the volume has been muted. Make sure both on the quick play bar right of the power button and in the task bar, that the volume has not been set to mute. Also check the audio drivers and make sure the drivers haven't been corrupt and reinstall or re-download new updated drivers in needed.

Pink vertical line

To start try reinstalling display adapter drivers. Try also to start from a boot disk or to install a different operative system.

If it does not go, and does not depend on the system, a static vertical lines is either faulty display adapter or faulty LCD display. Usually the video adapter.

I had to replace my Toshiba A105 screen recently due to damage. I installed the new screen myself and it worked fine for a while, but now it has a pink vertical line about an inch thick running down the...

Ok then, take it apart again and make sure all the connections are well seated, check the inverter (circuit board under the screen) the ribbon cable that goes behind the the screen and the block connector that attaches to the motherboard. If all theses connections are well seated and you still get the pink line, the screen is defective and you need to send it back.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!
