Question about Whirlpool 24 in. ADP5962 Free-standing Dishwasher
Our whirlpool dishwasher isn't cleaning properly and in the morning (we run the machine ovenight, so I don't know if the cycle is finishing) the sani Rinse light is flashing.
It sounds like a heater element issue, but it may also be the water going to the dishwasher isn't hot enough when it gets there. The problem seems to have been when we have had a cold snap.
a 6ya Repairman can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

My guess is that the foil that the buttons are mounted to is defective. The control module "reads" the buttons that are pushed by the fact that the resistance between two pins on the circuitboard becomes zero ie. your pushing the button shorts out two pins. the foil could have moistire damage or the resiistance of the tracks could be too high. Solution for both would be to replace the control panel button foil.

This sounds like a bad timer. The timer is what tells the pump to drain at specified times. If it gets a bad contact, that timed cycle won't happen.
PS: Do you know for sure that the drain is occurring in mid-cycle? If not, you may just have an obstruction in the drain and/or anti-siphon valve (where the hose connects under the dishwasher.

I have the same problem. I have to go through the test mode at least three times just to wash one load of dishes. This dishwasher is a lemon. Sears she recall it. The techs say that they have at least 50 calls a week with the same problem. We need to hire a lemon law attorney and sue the pants off them. If you here anything email me please.

I have this model, but not this problem (my impeller motor seems to have burned out). Anyway, try pressing Hi Temp Scrub, Air Dry, Sani Rinse, Air Dry, in that order and see what happens. Mine appears to reset and run through a set of warm-up tests.

Heat that is retained in the dishes is largely responsible for drying
in this dishwasher. Since plastics do not retain heat very well, they
will not dry as well as glasses, ceramics or metal dishes. Rinse aid
must be used so that the final rinse water will sheen off of the dishes
to accommodate this drying process. The heater element at the bottom of
the tub is used to add heat during the drying cycle to aid in this
process as well. This model of dishwasher does not have any forced air
circulation system. Here are some tips that may help you resolve your

Have Whirlpool GU1500XTLT1 with exact same symptoms, even tried power off but the lights resumed blinking when powered back up. Used solution from "kent168" of 17 Nov 2010 for similar GU1500XTLS1 with a different problem, and IT WORKED: "Reset the machine: press control buttons in this sequence: sani rinse, air dry, sani rinse, air dry, clear."
