Just had the same problem, found solution on another thread

Switch Off

Put side switch to hold

Press in middle button, keep holding in while you plug into usb port and keep pressed for a few seconds after.

Computer should recognise it and will keep charging.

Worked for me

Battery runs down after about 10 mins

The battery may actually be charged 100% when you start reading but after a year of charging and discharging it may need to be replaced, especially if it is a NiCd type.

My four generation classic 30gb ipod not able to switch on

First off make sure it is charged up,try plugging up to wall charger/or usb charger. If thats not problem & still wont turn on.you have to reset it by holding the TOP(up) button and the CENTER button at the same time to reset it. Hold both down until you see the apple logo appear & loading as soon as it loads up(give it a min) all will fine then & should play normally.

CAN I CHARGE MY JWIN MP3 PLAYER ON THE COMPUTER

Yes most mp3 players automaticly charge when you plug in to down load from your computer. All you need is the cord not the software so any pc can charge the mp3.

Zen 16 gig won't turn nor charge

hold down the reset button for about 1 min then leave it for about 30 seconds. once you have done that try turning it on, if it does not turn on and it is completely dead leave it pluged in to your computer by using the usb cable, leave for about 30 mins it then might start to charge, if it does start to charge leave it till it is fully charged and then it should turn on. if none of that works then i don't know.

Battery wont charge correctly

Probably a hardware issue that requires replacment, but:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

My JVC Mp3 player wont start at all I charged it and everything

Does the computer recognise it when plugged into the USB port? If so, you could always try a Firmware re-load using the disc which should have come with the player - or obtained from their website. If you don't have a back-up copy of your music, make one first 'cos it'll all be lost during the re-load.

Sansa won't charge or load.

Plug it into the computer (the cord you would use to charge it and transfer files), and hold down the power button for at least 15 seconds. The Sansa should then begin to turn on and start charging. :)
