Question about Symbol MOTOROLA WS5100 Router

Motorola WS5100 and CGI-ERROR on Web login, while CLI works

Hi,
our couple of WS5100 Motorola access port switches are showing the following strange issue: accessing the configuration/monitoring via the Web panel fails with "CGI-Error". We double-checked the login credentials and they are correct.

Accessing the CLI via telnet works like a charm with the *same* credentials. Tried a "reload" command but the situation didn't change.
Any clue?

Regards,
Angelo Amoruso

Trying to secure my wep, tried the loggin admin, motorola but will not log me in.

Couple of things you can do....
In the User ID field, type admin (case sensitive) and press TAB. In the Password field, type motorola (case sensitive) and click Log In to display the SBG900 Setup Program main window
If you are still having problems, try the following:
  1. Press the reset button on the rear panel. Resetting may take 5 to 30 minutes
  2. Try the login again, if that fail try from a different browser.

Forgot your Windows password? A Windows Password Reset Disk could do all the job for you, it can reset your lost or unknown Windows password safely and quickly without login, you can create a Windows password reset disk with the tool Windows Password Breaker, then use it to reset your password.

How do i log into my router so i can open up ports so i can switch my nat type from 3 to 2 on my ps3

With a computer that is directly connected to the router (wired connection), open your web browser and go to this URL: http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 whichever works for your router.

When prompted to login, use:
user name = admin
password = admin (or just leave blank if the "admin" password is not accepted)

Give it a try.

Cisco 1750 not showing anything in cli in hyperterm

First, make sure your terminal settings are correct.  Also, make sure you are using the right cable.  Cisco provides a flat, blue console cable with every router and switch.
Cisco lists the necessary terminal settings for most of their models here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps700/products_tech_note09186a008010ff7a.shtml
Power off the router and then power it back on.
If you are still not seeing any characters through your terminal application, then the router is most likely dead and will need to be replaced.

Here ya go: To use the configuration utility embedded within your Motorola WiFi Router, you need to connect to it using the HTTP protocol. Launch a web browser (Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, or Netscape, etc.) on your computer, type in http://192.168.10.1 (default IP address for its LAN/NIC Interface) in its URL/Location bar, and then press Enter on your keyboard. If presented with a user authentication (login) screen, try the following: Default Motorola Wireless Router Username: admin (lowercase) Default Motorola Wireless Router Password: motorola (lowercase) If you cannot login using the above, it may be so because (a) you are not typing your password correctly, (b) your CAPSLOCK key is on, (c) someone has changed password on your wireless router, and/or (d) the firmware (a set of instructions stored on an EEPROM microchip) encoded within your wireless router is corrupted. Consider resetting your router to its factory default settings if you are stuck.
