HTC Touch Pro only rings twice before switching to voicemail

My phone only rings once or twice before switching to voicemail. If I ring it from a landline, I can hear it ringing out on the landline phone but the touchpro doesnt actually ring until the fourth or fifth ring. Anyone got any suggestions?

I have the same issue. I miss alot of calls because of this. I've noticed on my phone it will vibrate once or twice before ever ringing. Sometimes I get just one audible ring on the cell phone by the time I pick up the caller has been forwarded to v-mail.

I'm having the same issue. Is there a way to allow more time for it to ring before voicemail engages?

The hotfix on HTC's web site says it's for fixing a "prolonged ringing" problem, where the 'phone continues to ring after the caller has hung up. You answer the 'phone and nobody's there. This isn't the same thing, and anyway, as at the time of writing, the hot fix is 404 not found when you try to download it.

The problem I have (and that everyone else seems to have) is that the 'phone (or, more likely, Windows) is so slow that by the time the 'phone has started ringing the caller is ready to give up or go to voicemail.

I've went to the HTC website that you suggested put in my phone which is the (Sprint Touch Pro) but there is no option for downloads, is this a carrier specific download? Which did you use?

I think the issue is a misconception on the operation of the phone. The phone flashes for the first ring, vibrates for the second ring, and then rings for the 3rd and 4th ring before dropping to voicemail. it requires a registry modification as can be found on some forums to make it "ring immediately." If you put the phone on vibrate it will buzz immediately and skip the flashing lights step.

There is no fix for this problem on the HTC web site.
270rexton, if you think there is, please provide the link. I think you are probably referring to this:
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=140&cat=0&dl_id=502

The problem people are reporting here is that the phone takes a long time to start ringing. However, the fix referred to above is that the phone takes a long time to *stop* ringing if the caller hangs up - not the same thing.
There is a solution to the former problem here, but I haven't tried it yet so make no promises! But other posters to the thread claim a result.

Why does razr goes to voicemail too quick

It could be that the phone is delayed in ringing. Try placing a test call and see how many times it rings in the phone you are calling from before it rings on the phone. Then you can determine if the phone is delayed in ringing. If you hear ringing and the phone rings once and then it goes to voicemail then there may be a setting on your phone that is causing this.

How to increase ring duration

First of all you need to know the number you dial for voicemail. Make a note of this.
Then, go to the dialpad and dial:
*#61#
and press Call.
A box will popup telling you what the redirect to voicemail delay is. On my handset the default was 15 seconds.
Now, dial:
**61******SECS#
and press Call
where *** is your voicemail number and SECS is the number of seconds you want it to ring for before diverting. For example, on Vodafone UK the voicemail number is 121 so to set the ring for 30 seconds before diverting, dial:
**61*121**30#
Once the box has come up saying it was successful you can use *#61# again to check the setting.

I have an htc mozart and i have cancelled the voicemail through orange however the voicemail symbol is still showing. Can i remove it and how thanks

You need to call orange, they will send an invisible service message to the handset to cancel off the icon, I work for Orange, we do not cancel your voicemail, merely stop calls diverting to it, so if you had an unread message before you rang to stop it it will still be there. Ring 123 to see if you can still listen to the voicemail and delete it, if this doesnt work then call us and get us to send out a voicemail spool cancellation message.

Incoming calls ring 3 times at main extension, then phone stops ringing at main & rolls over to ring at all other phones. Phone rings once at those extensions before going to voicemail. (We have...

Your voicemail thinks that it is ringing six times. The time that it takes to transfer to the extensions counts. Whiloe it seems that there is a lapse the system actually is using enough time to ring six times total. If you need longer ring time at the extension, take in account the transfer time and set it to pick up after 8 or 9 rings. It will actually only ring six. You just have to trick the system a little.
