Is DataWedge installed on the device (I think you can get from the MOT website). Once that is running in the background, and Excel is launched, you should be able to scan. Just make sure the cursor is in a blank cell on the spreadsheet.
Also, may want to make sure DataWedge doesn't conflict or disable your application first before deploying on multiple devices.

Hello is_bsp, which scanning application are you using? You could test the functionality by installing the manufacturer's application called DataWedge, provided here for download http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=12743&sliceId=&dialogID=190394078&stateId=1%200%20190388513
MC7090 - the 9 defines the Wireless function.
MC7004 - the 4 defines the phone function.
Hence a MC7094 would have wireless and phone functionality. If you have a
"9" version then you can use the free wifi. There would be a PCMCIA
card symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the device. Click that and
"find WLANS". Then connect to the one you want.
You need to be in an application first. For example, launch mobile Excel and make sure your cursor is in a cell. When you scan, it will enter into that cell. Just make sure the cursor is in the cell you are trying to get the info into before you scan (If it's not working, the app you're running may not be compatible with the scanning function, but I've never seen this).
Oddly enough, from what I've seen, if you just scan something without having an app launch, I've seen the MC70 default to the phone function and try to dial the number scanned.
