Question about Cobra 148 GTL 120-Channels Base CB Radio
Hi sir im looking to do away with the bleep on my cobra?im pretty well skilled for soldering just need to find out were to go an what to cut want to do thank you.
IT MUST BE A 148 GTL DX. THEIR IS AN ORANGE WIRE TOWARDS THE LEFT SIDE ON THE BOARD BY THE FRONT OF THE RADIO. CUT THAT WIRE OR GET A MINI TOGGLE SWITCH AND MOUNT IT SOMEWHERE ON THE RADIO. WHERE THE WIRE CONNECTS TO THE BOARD IT WILL SAY BEEP ON THE BOARD.

If this is a stock cobra 148 gtl 40 channel am plus side band, they don't to my knowledge come with a built in r beep. Some roger beeps are instaleed through the transmit circuit on the mic, so if not in the know Don't try to fix it.Some microphones have a beep built in. I used to install beeps on these radios using the pa/cb switch to turn them on. also try the nb switch or the swr/rf switch.
