Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup- over to Format option- You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the data from the card and you will be able to use it again.

When I go to take photo a box appears in the rear window saying CARD LOCKED. How do I remove this?

Remove the memory card from the camera, look along the one edge for a tiny switch, slide it towards the contacts to unlock the card, the switch that is furthest from the contacts is in the lock position to prevent deletions of your photo's. Now! if the switch is in the unlock position, slide it back and forth to reset the card, if it fails replace the card.

Cant take photos and the LCD screen says "Memory card is locked. Slide lock to 'write' position"

I don't own this camera but My guess is your memory card is in a LOCK SETTING you need to move the memory card to unlocked " wrirte " so you memory card isn't locked.....
Step 1 remove the card from you're camera
Step 2 there is a small little side on the side of the memory chip move that to the unlock position.
step 3 insert the card and start shooting!

Camera no longer working

Your memory card must have had the switch moved from locked to unlocked. To fix this, removed the SD card from your camera. Look on the side and you will find a little switch. One end of the switch says locked the other end says locked. Move the switch from locked to unlocked. Replace it in your camera and turn it back on. Try it and let me know if I can help more.

On vacation, removed the photo card and it now says LOCKED. HELP

Hi!

If you are using an SD or MMC card, check if the lock button (on the side of the card - a tiny plastic that you can slide) is on the LOCK position. Slide it to UNLOCK position. If it's already in UNLOCK position, slide it to LOCK , then UNLOCK position.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Memory card blocked

There is a lock on SD cards. It usually is a white switch on the left side of the card. Turn the switch in the opposite direction and try it.
