My LCD has gone blank and i am unable to see anything on it.
Its completed blank and no icons can bee seen on it, even the Blue screen is not visible...cud u let me know what the issue may be ?
Hi this is tech crazy
Based on the information you have provided, it appears that you may have
encountered this issue. To determine if the CCD (image sensor) is
working properly, please follow these steps:
1. Insert a memory card with known good images on it into the camera.
2. Power the camera on to the Playback mode.
3. Press the DISPLAY (DISP) button to enable the LCD panel, and observe
the LCD.
a. If the images are displayed properly, please proceed to step
four.
b. If the images are not displayed, or a "NO IMAGES" message
appears, please ensure that the memory card contains known good images.
c. If the card contains known good images, and the issue persists
with a second memory card, the camera will require service.
4. Switch the camera to the Camera mode. You may use any shooting mode
(i.e. Auto, Manual).
5. Press the DISPLAY (DISP) button to enable the LCD panel.
6. Point the camera at a well-lit scene and observe the LCD and/or
viewfinder. If the scene the camera is pointed at appears on the LCD
and/or viewfinder, the CCD is operating properly. If the LCD and/or
viewfinder remain black, the camera requires service
Hope this solution helps you a lot
Please rate me on the above said solution
In addition to what techcrazy said, it also might be a broken reseptor or a broken lense. If this is the case, it would be easier to make a new one rather that fixing the old camera. The only real way to know if now of the things techcrazy suggested work is to take it to a camera/camcorder dealler or repair shops that will do free diognostics. This will tell you what is wrong. Anouther thing is if you connect your camcorder to your television set and put the camera in playback mode and nothing appears then it is probably the reseptors or the lense because this takes the variable out that is the screen. If it does play then you have a bad screen.
Hope everything works out,

The display being blank can be due to failure of the LCD or the CCD which is the optical sensor of the camera. So to confirm check the older picture to be seen on the display. Confirm this by checking the card on your PC. If the images/picture is seen to be of good quality, then the LCD can be faulty, fault on the linking cable or the control board.since you are able to seen the ICONS the LCD is good , Now if the picture taken are seen well the CCD is also OK and the fault seems to be a digital logic gate failure as there is no switching of the circuit .
This might require a probe and it might be a relative issue in the motherboard circuit or the processsor. Remove battery , press down all buttons to drain off voltage and see if the camera resets.
Thank You for using fixya
