Re: no power to tv
The power management and protection circuits have taken over. There is something taking too much current and the protection system has shut the system OFF to prevent further damage ...............if you are familiar with tv service you can check the main fuse that should be close to where the power cord comes in,if you find the fuse blown it needs to be replaced with an exact replacement for AMPS rating and VOLTS rating as well as size,if the fuse is blown black we might have more problems ahead in the circuit and it will blow up again as soon as you plug the tv back in,if it blows again it will need a more involved repair, the problem could be in the primary side of the power supply.......Check horizontal output transistor.............

you can try to shut the tv off ,unplug the power to tv and anything that is powering the tv[pvr] .now plug in the power to the box first wait,30 seconds or so ,now plug in the tv wait, now turn the t.v. on,WAIT unless it starts smoking just wait.see what happens.
Try to do the following, it didn't work for me but it may work for you...
The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.
Turn off the television.
IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
Turn on the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.
first things check the outlet for power.
chech and make shure your surge protector is in the on posishion.
try pluging sumthig else in wer the tv will be pluging into.
at least you know if its the outlet or the tv set.
ok now press the power button on the tv set not the remote.
dose it work.
ok problem solved.
if it did not work you can have a tech see if the internal fusse is good or bad.
i will need the model number to look futher into tech repair.
I will do this for you if you need it done.
