Question about Philips Televison & Video
Hello , I have a Samsung LE-40S61BX TV .
I bought it around 6 months ago .Never had any problems with it except one time when a purple vertical line appeared in the middle of the screen (I just touched it and it was gone )
I cant forget to say that i've been usin it aLOT this year and it was many hrs open .
Anyway , I left for christmas vacation for 25days and when i got back and into the house i tried to open it and there was the major problem .
It could not Open . It Just did the sounds of opening . (Not the melody ..just the ''chik chik'' sounds )
Well, the first time that happened , the chik chik sounds lasted for like 3mins and then i heard the greeting melody and it finally opened .
Ever since WHENEVER i close the TV , i regret it later when i try to open it again .
Every time the chik chik sounds lasted longer and longer . Now the TV hasnt opened for 2 days and all i hear are those DAMN CHIK CHIK sounds ... :(
I Called Samsung and they told me to contact the local authorized Technician . I contacted him and he told me that he cant pick up my TV except friday when he only ued to make deliveries and stuff .
Those chik chik sounds seem like there is something burnt or sth.
Anyway , did anyone experience sth like that before ?
I really need to know what to do coz there is a big game and im tryin to get to watch it and open my tv by tomorrow night . .
Any help or thoughts from u guys would be much Appreciated .
The noise you are hearing is the power supply attempting to start up. Unfortunately, a component has failed inside the power supply circuit. Most likely it is a capacitor. The good news is that the set should still be under warranty and the repair should not cost you anything. The bad news, is that the service person may not have a replacement power supply board with him/her when he/she arrives. This should be a quick fix as the replacement board is relatively easy to change.
