I forgot to mention that I have a Lexmark X5340 printer

Lexmark x5340 printer with a paper jam. Unable to get the sheet out. I can't reach the paper. Looks like it must be removed from the bottom but no access. I've disassembled as far as the scanner deck..can't figure out how to disassemble the thing further.

Typically what I have seen with these printers if they do that it is because there is something blocking the path of the paper. What you can do if you are comfortable with pulling the scanner off!

Is lift the printer and and give it a good shake and what ever is blocking the paper will fall out if not it may loosen it enough so that when put the printer down and take a flash light and shine it down the paper feed area you will be able to see what is there and then pull it out with either a pair of needle noose pliers or your hands it is advisable that you do not take the rest of printer apart because it can cause irreparable damage to the printer if you are not careful.

Also if you have a warranty on the printer you can just call Lexmark and they will either walk you through the same process or they will send you a new printer
