Is the new Catridge a lexmark brand? If not , take it back due to incompatability issues and get a lexmark brand.

Hi,try taking the cartridge back out and wipe both the cartridge and the printer mating faces gently with a damp tissue,if this doesn't work I'm afraid you'll have to replace or exchange the cartridge for another new one.

Put a new color cartridge in yesterday. First pages printed greens instead of blue. Now only prints pink and red. No other color or even black. I ran a test and it comes out ok.

Try cleaning the print head with something like isopropyl. I had a canon that did the same because the machine was fairly old, had a little use that lead to ink drying on the head and blocking the pransmission of the inks to paper. That may be the issue hopefully. Sometimes compatible cartridges cause problems because they are not correctly chipped.

I have a Lexmark x7170. After installing ink cartridge printer says incorrect left cartridge. If you try to print you get unsupportive cartridge. We had just changed the cartridges and it printed fine till...

Some older print cartridges are not compatible even if your model is listed on label. I'm talking a few years difference. The printer knows this and that is what the error is telling you. Make sure you have the right number in the right slot.

32 Unsupported print cartridge

This is caused by an unsupported chip on the toner. If its a reman toner ie. Office depot/nice day then you should ring them up and et them to arrange for a new one. if they say its not possible to have a faulty one they will be trying to fob you off. just as a guide lexmark have around a 7% failure on toners so your not the only one. if it gets to the point where youd like to put the toner in a certain place of the office depot's worker then you can always find a chip online from people such as static or delacamp. and they just pull out and slide in.

Unsupported cartridge message

I was having this problem with a Z730. The printer was finally working again after removing and inserting ink cartridge like 40-50 times. No pun intended. After installing cartridge try turning off printer and then back on.

Paper sensor, I think

check the cable first..and do a test page, if you can without the printer connected to anything.

then, if that all works, we can look elsewhere, no?

Massage unsupport ink on lexmark X4270

Sadly, not all inks are created equal, and even inks that are claimed "compatable" are not allways safe. My HP photo printer worked great for 2 years, then I put in a "will fit" from a name brand office supply store, the printer nozzles plugged on the second print, never to print correctly again. My replacement printer is a Kodak 5300 all in one, chosen for low ink costs/ hi-output, and I get photo-lab quality, borderless prints day after day. (I'm a photographer/artist) I have run 6 color and 5 blacks for thousands of graphics, in a period of 2 months getting ready for a showing, with maybe 1 or 2 misprints.

Unsupported cartridge error

I have an X5495 Lexmark and have recently been getting this **** "unsupported cartridge" rubbish. OS is XP SP2.

My history with this printer has been:
-when new, the printer worked fine until I needed to replace the original ink tanks. I refilled them, but could not get the printer functional again....nil print at all. After much frustration, I was informed by a little birdie that the cartridges that originally come with the printer will not work if refilled. Great. They are one use only.
-replaced with genuine high yield tanks. Then worked fine. Refilled once, possibly twice with suitable non genuine ink. Still working fine.
-once black ink tank ran low this time, refilled it and symptoms of no print from Word docs, not all parts of a web page would print. Surprisingly, photos off hard disc print ok.(??????)
-replaced black with genuine tank and colour with remanufactured tank. Error message of "unsupported tank". Now no print at all.
-left new genuine black cartridge in and refitted genuine colour cartridge that I have previously refilled.
-all print now ok.....finally.

Maybe they have a copy limit or the integrated print head in the black has crapped itself????????

During this process, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver several times.
I have found that it has to be COMPLETELY uninstalled. Using the Lexmark uninstall function does not remove all parts of the software (Lexmark toolbar for one). If the software is not completely uninstalled, you will get a spurious unrelated and rubbish pop up that installation cannot continue because of "insufficient processor speed" with a spurious set of numbers after it. This message bears no relation to the solution.

I have found that you need to search and delete ALL Lexmark files that you can find after the uninstall. I have also deleted entries from registry.....1 entry only from memory (be CAREFUL with registry). Then reboot system.

The driver should then reinstall correctly and fully.

Why do they make it so damn hard? Don't think I'll buy a Lexmark next time.......
