Question about Sony VAIO K45 Notebook
If you can get the board fthrough someone online at a good price ( $150) or so, you can do it yourself.
It seems hard at first but its really not. Just set down a piece of paper and draw a few 2 inch circle on it, then when you take the screws out, put each in ther own spot and label them so its easy to put them back. I.E. label one, BASE SCREWS for the bottom, Mobo screws for Mother board and so fourth, also put how many on the paper in case they get knocked off.
Then start removing the bottom covers to the wireless card, Hard drive, memory, etc. and set aside as these will be the last you put back.
once you rmeove the keyboard, you will see inside and will be able to start removing the screen screws and so on.
You may be able to find a repair manual that will shows you step by step on the manufacturers website.
remmeebr though, New laptops are getting cheap, if they want $500 for parts and labor, just buy a new one and sell your old one on ebay for parts.
Im affraid the problem with yours does sound like its the mother board. happens to Dells and HPs alot where I work.
