I need a copy of the original system drivers for a Gateway 300S
It is a microtower. I want to reinstall drivers and system so that all previous files will be wiped clean. I can't find a place online to download the drivers I need. The Gateway website link to mpc.com and that site doesn't list the 300s model in the their drop dwon menu of available system files and documents.

I pulled this from the Gateway manual for your machine. It is a generic guide. If this doesn't work, you may not have a recovery partition on your hard drive and should have made recovery disks when originally getting the unit. Good Luck!
From the Gateway Manual......
Recovering from the hard drive during startup:
To reinstall Windows and all pre-installed software and drivers:
1. Turn on your computer, then press Alt+F10 during startup. Gateway
Recovery Management opens.
2. Click on Restore system from factory default.
Caution: Continuing the process will erase all files on your hard
3. Click on Next. Your hard drive's original, factory-loaded contents are
recovered. This process will take several minutes.
I assume you have copied the downloaded files to the Gateway computer.
When you click on the various downloaded files it unzips and creates a folder for each unzipped file and then the expanded the files are placed into this folder.
To install the various drivers, open each folder (one at a time) and run the SETUP file or INSTALL file that is in this folder.
if you want it to be factory settings, you would need the exact same Operatin Sytem installation disk which they probably didnt give you. The reason i say the same is because your serial numbers wont match as your original OS. Anyways if you only doing it to sell the laptop or two have a fresh Operating system, i would recomend you !1) Get a copy os Windows XP 2) Backup all your important files 3) Format your laptop and reinstall XP 4) Restore your files 5) Download (If you dont have it already) your drivers for your laptop. This can be found on Toshibas website. 6) Install all drivers and thats it. You have a Factory Set Laptop
Techguru2009: You need to contact the manufacturer with your system model and specs. They might charge you a fee to have the restore disk shipped to you if you have the part number and serial number. Otherwise you need to reinstall the operating system.
