Hi Snowbird. Your mixer was manufactured in late 1940's or early 50's. It was sold with one all-purpose combination whisk/beater. There is no dough hook available from Kitchenaid. There are two greases you can use in your mixer. Shell Darina-2, or Chevron FM ALC EP-2, the Chevron product is rated as "food grade", meaning that it is safe to ingest if it drips into the food you are mixing.

Remove screws and cover to expose the transmission. Remove all traces of old grease and replace it with one of the above "approved" greases. If you find this solution helpful, please rate it. ricardok45

Is this a Kitchen Aid? Is it possible to buy this circuit board from somewhere?

This is a kitchen aid. BUT!!!! it is an international model that was sold in countries with 220 volts. Look underneath the mixer for a white tag it should have a model number and a serial number, if you can get us those numbers then we can help with the parts. Hope this helps.

Motor head on Kitchen Aid KSM150PSWW is loose when in operation.

Are you engaging the head lock during operation? if not that is why it is loose. If you are it is not uncommon for the head to move around a little under heavy loads, when I make bread the head is always trying to come up so I have to use the head lock switch whenever I use the mixer on bread. It is the only time I lock it down.

Hello. I have a Kitchen Aid mixer made by Hobart between 1975 and 1978. It is a stand mixer with a 5-quart bowl that lifts and locks into place. While it was kneading a bread dough, the motor...

Hello Suzann,

I understand that you are having a problem with your Kitchen Aid 5 Quart mixer. It sounds like you have stripped the gears or the worm gear out. Although, it may not be an expensive parts repair it is not an easy task to complete if you are not mechanical enclined. There are many different little gears in these units.

My suggestion would be to take it a local appliance repair shop that works on mixers. If you can tell me the city that you live in I would be more than happy to give you the location of one or two repair shops. As the unit is so old you want to invest in a new unit and keep that one as a reminder of how long Kitchen Aid has been around.

Thank you for choosing FIxYa.com

I was given a Kitchen Aid 45SS mixer that is over 20 years old but never used. Is there oiling or other maintenance procedure I shoild perform before using? Thanks. Chuck Volkema

I read thru the owners manual for this unit and there is no recommendations for internal service. no reference to lubrication except for keeping the outside free from flour caking up on the moving parts. I have one of these and have seen the inside, they are built like tanks, you should be fine. i would recommend letting it run for a while on low speed to speed the lube around the internal parts, nothing more should be needed. Just make sure it doesnt sound as if the motor is laboring on low speed, this would indicate that internal lube is necessary. I think it will be fine...Worm1855

No sticker/model number on the bottom of my stand mixer and am missing the paddle attachment and dough hook.

Since you have not given a make...I'll take a stab in the dark and bet you have a kitchen aid...simply because you mentioned the dough hook. Kitchen aid has 14 models of stand mixers. You can match yours up and look at available accessories at www.kitchenaid.com

Is 300 w mixer powerful enough to mix bread dough?

Your mixer is easily able to handle the kneading of bread dough. Please advise:

9 cups of all purpose white flour, maximum.

6 cups of specialty flour, maximum. This is any flour besides all purpose white.

Bread doughs are only to be needed on speed 2, and never for longer than 7 minutes.

This is all stated in the Use and Care guide for the mixer itself. If these guidelines are not followed, it may lead to a product failure.
