Chances are you can't get the exact LCD screen as a replacement part, unless you salvage it from another HP R742. The electronics manufacturing business changes very rapidly... The model in your hand is no longer in production.

My kids accidentally dropped my Panazonic Lumix TZ-10 on the floor (not from a great height). The lens at that moment could only half close, but after turning power on and off a few times, now it opens and...

The warranty is unlikely to cover accidental damage but you could check if you have any insurance cover, perhaps in house contents or travel, or you might ask the retailer if he would help under 'goodwill'. It sounds as if the lens extension mechanism was pushed out of kilter and cannot now complete its opening cycle so...as a last resort...you could try taking out and replacing the card or gently waggling the extended lens to see if this could help. Hope you can get it working again!

I dropped my new camera and the lens does not go in. Am I going to be able to fix it without sending it off?

If it is under warranty, you might not want to try to fix it yourself. However, the warranty probably doesn't cover damage from dropping the camera. If you have household insurance, this might provide cover for accidental damage.

There is a page of things you can try (only if you can't get it repaired economically) at this link.

I purchased a nikon coolpix camera a few months back, when purchasing i was asked if i wanted the plan, i asked what it covered and the associate said everything, i told him my 2 year old broke the last...

Well, I would take the Nikon Coolpix camera back to the retailer that sold it to you and ask to talk to the manager about this discrepancy.

Apparently, it says in the fine print that when you purchase a Nikon camera, and it is dropped, that the extended warranty doesn't cover this.

I would tell the retailer that the associate told you that 'EVERYTHING' was covered and you were under the impression that it covered dropping it as well.

I would tell the retailer that you will report them to the Better Business Bureau for misleading statements by a salesperson and see what the manager tells you after that.

It's true that extended warranty plans cover normal wear and tear items, and not abuse or misuse as indicated by dropping it accidentally or getting it wet in the rain, but I would ask the higher ups at the retailer about the warranty being honored since you paid for it.

I hope this helps you out.

Broken LCD - Need cost or can I avil Warranty as in Warranty period.

Unfortunately I would be pretty sure that the warranty wouldnt cover the cost of your screen as it would come under misuse... ie: you broke it dropped it caught it damaged it ?. and not covered under electronic breakdown or fair wear and tear , however dont despair a replacement screen is not that much and fitting it is relatively simple with the right tools and a steady hand and good eyesight ..Cost of a replacement is available on the Olympus website .. however if the screen just stopped working and you didn't break it then yes it would be covered under warranty .. Guitar hero guitar issues...

If it makes the sound but you still get credit for it. you can hit the Home button on the Wiimote, Click on Wii Remote Settings. Then just turn the volume all the way down.

If you think there is an issue. Try playing with a different WiiMote, Or Consider replacing the guitar.

Nikon coolpix L18 Screen has crack right across, hasn't been dropped or bumped

Chances are the manufacturer will not accept damaged screens. If you've got a new camera, try your luck. Cracked screens are highly unlikely as the screens are not under pressure or stressed from the way they are constructed. Much like the cellphone screens, they are pretty tough to break. I broke mine after more than 15 accidental drops.

Screen has lines

Most likely youve damage the lcd screen either by dropping it even though you didnt, but that would be the only cause this problem, line on a lcd screen are usually cause by a broken power current thru screen or a cracked lcd screen maybe it was defective in the first time. I dont know, but line are usually means no power or no information going thru screen.

need to be replaced.

I dropped my NIKON COOLPIX L10!!

The camera is very probably beyond economical repair (check your house hold insurance for accidental cover though) and I'd advise you to give it a good yank. You will find it sometimes clicks back into place. If its not covered under any insurance you have little to loose.
