SOURCE: Infocus LP820 - Turns on for 30sec then shuts down

This could be one of two problems I have seen with another model Infocus projector (they are very good projectors though)

The first is the video input. Make sure it is attached correctly at both ends of the cable.
The second, remove the dust covers and blow them out. The problem can arrise if the temperature sensor detects the air inside the unit is getting too hot. If you can see the sensor when the dust covers are off (it will look like a little lump of goo on the end of a wire) then just give it a wipe as well. If dust settles on those it can cause incorrect temps to be reported.

Hope that solves your poblem =)

SOURCE: Connecting Dell laptop to Infocus LP820

The USB cable doesn't transmit Video. You need to plug in the VGA cable. The "DVI" port on the LP820 is not a a DVI but a M1 Digital port and won't work with DVI unless you get a converter.

SOURCE: lp820 infocus will not turn on

Some capasitors should be changed in the powersupply and several diodes too, may be. There are temperature mode in the power supply is very hard and those capasitors broke from that. Therefore running of projector is not stable. However if dont change capasitors at time then one diode may be broken and the projector will not start afterthat alwase.
Its not so big work for repaire.
I hope may english is understandable for you.

SOURCE: Infocus LP130, Bulb fires then goes out

there is a problem with the power to the front fan from the main board. there are 3 wires going to the fans: one power, one return, and one signal. if the main board reads no signal from the fan's speed, it'll shut down. check the power going to the fans and the signal. you may need to replace the main board.

The other thing is to check the bulb is seated correctly in its connector.

I have an infocus lp820 with what looks like an blue ghost omage in centre of screen,i suspect optical engine or lcd panels

This projector is one I've worked on many times and you are correct. The lcd panels are burnt probably due to a hard shutdown not allowing the fans to cool the inner components done repeatedly over several sessions.

if it's a pixelated line, it's your lcd panel. if it's a blended, uneven line, it may the polarizer on the lcd panel. either way, you'll have to replace the whole optical engine.

if the lamp lights and then shuts down, replace the lamp. it's at the end of it's life. to rule out overheating, blow the projector out with canned air. dust retains the heat that the projector is trying to expell. also see if all of the fans are working. if you do get an image for a short time, try to get into the menu to reset the settings to factory default. lastly, if all else fails, you have a ballast issue. unfortunately, infocus no longer sells parts for this model.

Infocus lp820 i press power can not hear any fan moving lamp turn on with gray light after 10 sec lamp shut off and message says "fan stopped"

you need to replace the fans; they may have burned out. you could try to get one from an infocus service center or send it to them for repair, but know that this is an old machine and parts may not be available. you could try getting a used one on ebay that has a different problem and swap out the parts. if you do decide to send it in or find new parts, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

InFocus LP725 light goes out after 10 minutes

The Projector will turn off after so many hours of running the same bulb module. The counter will turn on a replace bulb LED. Installing the new bulb module should reset the counter and turn off the LED.

Check the projector’s lamp to ensure that it is securely connected
in the lamp module. Make sure by removing it and reinserting it.

Check the cables for problems.

When testing, power up in this order. Projector, Computer monitor, Computer.

A minor power surge may cause the lamp to shut off. Turn the
projector off, wait at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

I hope these suggestions help
