Frigidaire Gallery Series Oven Locked

I leaned over the oven across the bar and somehow locked the oven door. I hit cancel and nothing happened. There's a little picture of a lock opening w/ the # 3 in it but I have no idea what this means. It's a new oven and is digital. Any ideas? Really need to unclock it..... I accidently just hit the clear/off button..that has also a small lock icon on the same stupid button... and the oven lock door snapped in lock mode as my dinner rolls were finished baking...and my kids watched me freekout...nothing worked...I unplugged the power, hit code 1,2,3,4, pressed clear etc. Finally I played with the timer on/off and hit the clear and things somehow unlocked...but after the rolls burned. The idiots who design locking ovens and dishwashers should be be beat...this is the second appliance with lock problems from GE..now a firm worth $11 share and dropping for good reason.

Not familiar with this particular stove, but it sounds like you activated a child protection lock. To turn these on and off, you have to hit that lock icon and hold it for 4-8 seconds for anything to happen. This is so that the kids won't have sense enough to unlock it, assuming that you locked it to keep them out!

Also, frequently they work  in stages. Hitting it one time (for 4-8 seconds) will lock the panel, hitting it another time will unlock it, hitting it a third time might lock the door, and so on. So RTFM, or just keeping hitting it multiple times for 4-8 seconds each, and see what does what. But the manual should tell you everything you need to know. You can go to the GE website, or to managemyhome.com, which is maintained by Sears, and you should be able to find a PDF copy of the manual if you don't have the manual that came with it.

The oven door is locked

Hello Berna Morgan, thank you for your inquiry!

Based off the information you have provided the door on your Frigidaire oven is locked. If you check on the control panel of your oven there should be a clear or cancel button, hold that down for three to five seconds. If that does not help unlock your door I would suggest performing a power reset and you can do that flipping the household circuit break for roughly ten minutes. That should provide a factory reset to your oven. I hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt

Accidentally hit clean button on a Frigidaire Gallery Oven. Hit Cancel button. Oven door won't open.

I appreciate your post, C Maury!
From my understanding your hit the clean button on your Frigidaire wall oven and now the door will not open. I would hold down the cancel button for at least ten seconds, this should unlock the door. If that does not help I would recommend disconnecting power from your wall oven by flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes. I hope this information was helpful to some degree. -Matt

If tripping and turning the circuit breaker off for about 10 minutes does not work, contact Frigidaire. Sounds like the control board and/or door switch will need replacing.

How do you remove the door from a frigidaire gallery series double wall oven(self cleaning)?

Open the door and look at the hinges the connect the oven door to the oven body, on each side you will notice a piece that can be moved back and forth without moving the door, roll each side toward the oven body this should be the locked position, now try to close the door and you will notice the hinges lift up. At this time you need to pull up and push forward on the door and both hinges will come out.

Error Code

Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Push CANCEL pad to clear the display

I have a Frigidaire Gallery Oven Professional Series, I don't have the model number. In trying to self clean my oven, I accidentally pressed something that engaged the oven door lock. Now I can't close...

If your oven door has gotten bent or warped (maybe you rested something heavy on it…), you need to remove the door, disassemble it, and straighten it. You can lift most oven doors off of their hinges by opening the door several inches to its first "stop," and lifting the entire door straight up.

If the hinges have become worn, damaged, or bent, you probably need to replace them. I recommend replacing both hinges at the same time, to prevent uneven wear of the undamaged hinge.

Oven Door Locked

the oven door does lock during self clean, otherwise it will not work. however, the door is supposed to unlock after the oven has cooled. if it is still locked, turn the oven to self clean and wait about a minute and then hit cancel and see if the door unlocks. if not, there may be a probelm with the door lock mechanism.
