Question about HP Photosmart C5180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP bought in Europe, and North American cartridges not working

I have a HP C5180 which was bought in Europe, and it is using (and apperently configured) to use the 363 cartridges.
Moved to Canada, and I had to change a cartrigde...seller informed they did not have 363, but I could use the 02 according to HP manual.
Got it and tried it...not working. Getting error message that printer is configured for the 363...called HP which after about 1 hour on the phone ended up trying to sell me a new printer since he could not solve the issue.
Is there anyone that know how I can reconfigure my printer to work with the 02 cartridges???
Please, urgently need help.

i have the same problem. I do know on my search to change that it can be done. Someone who returned from australia who needed to change from a 02 to a 363 ink wrote that they contacted HP & they changed it on the configuration menu. She did not give the instructions (which i was looking for) I suggest you call back HP and if he doesn't know how to do it ask to speak to someone higher up.

You would need the logic board replaced which would exceed what the printer is worth,

Will lexmark 17 black inkt cartridge and a lexmark 27 color ink cartridge fit in a hp photosmart c4280 all in one printer and work properly?

Negative, but you may want to think about refilling your HP74/75 ink cartridges for your HP PS C4280 printer....it's actually quite affordable.

For additional information on North American ink refill services at a major retailer near you (should you wish to save ~50% on ink costs), general printing problem resolutions or advanced HP printer diagnosis procedures (error bypass/printer reset methods, etc.), please visit Inkjet411:

Hi there
I have just done exactly the same thing - a Uk printer but now in the USA - were you able to resolve or is the only solution to buy a new printer or get cartridges shipped from the UK. Its ridiculous.
have you found a better solution??

I just bought a new yellow ink cartridge, and when I put it in the printer says that the yellow ink is depleted. I changed the ink two times. What should I do?

If you are using off brand cartridges that are remanufactured (refilled), that may be your problem. I have had several HP printers and when I used refilled cartridges, it wouldn't print. I stay with genuine HP ink cartridges. Just my opinion!

Using 02 series cartridges in 363 configured printer

Hi,
You are correct those printers & cartridges are designed to work only in their original countries of origin…
For example if you bought the printer in Europe, it uses the #363 cartridges.. If you were to have bought the printer in the US it would use the #02.

You can contact HP and over the phone they can help you turn your printer from a #363 into a #02…ou might need to have a “story” ready ;)

Once the conversion is done, from that moment onwards, your printer will only take #02 carts...

Only HP can make that change...

Cheers,
Ed

Error: 0xc18a0107 Printer HP C5180 All in One

I had the same problem for a few days.
Each time, I switched on my HP C5180 printer, the Oxc18a0107 message was displayed.
I tried the solution that I found on the net (power off, power on while holding on OK and HELP keys) unsuccessfully ...
Then I bought new ink cartridges and I put them after resetting the printer.
No more error message ... It works well now.

How do I reset the ink levels?

We have an issue of missing or replace yellow cartridge. Please feel free to contact the HP support for replacement of the printer, if the printer is in warranty status. HP would replace the printer.

Ask about HP cartridge for HP AIO 7310

Your problem is language and diffrent countries my friend. USA has there cartridges and other countries has theres. The data from the cartridge is language specific. So your American printer can not understand your Denmark cartridge. Also I am guessing there is a diffrence in the size of the cartridges. Therefore rendering your Denmark cartridges useless for your American Hewitt Packard printer.

Change region code for ink cartridges

I've recently moved from the UK to the US and have successfully changed the region on my Deskjet 6840. Your biggest challenge is going to be navigating through HP's awful customer service (as this is the only way to get it done - don't waste time googling for ways to do it yourself).

After frustrating hours with their on-line tech support, and a useless guy telling me that what I was asking couldn't be done (I should just buy a new printer, apparently!), I turned to phone support.

A very helpful guy on their phone support described to me exactly what was needed. However, he said that it was hardly ever done, many of the tech support people had no experience of it, and that he wasn't allowed to do it himself - I would have to be transferred to "Level 2" tech support. As my printer was out of warranty, this was going to cost me around 40 bucks (I forget the exact amount). Or he said, I could try the online support which, he admitted, was a bit of a lottery.

Given I now understood the "HP terminology" to use, I decided to try online support once more. Probably partly due to the clearer technical description I was able to give, and partly because the person I was connected to wasn't a clueless idiot this time, it was finally resolved pretty smoothly.

Total time taken: 4-5 hours - get comfy, try to not get too frustrated, and don't give up!
