SOURCE: How to reset BIOS password

If you really wanted to reset the bios, you have to disassemble your laptop and look for the battery. It is a small circle usually clip with a small metal and soldered. Cmos battery located on the rear of your motherboard. Get the battery using soldering iron or gun, put it back again the battery after 10 seconds. These process will erase all the save information from your cmos or bios. Assemble again and test your laptop. Have a good day!

SOURCE: how to reset the HP

Go to HP's site, look to see if there is any documentation on taking the laptop apart, remove the battery, take it apart, and remove the watch battery found within. Keep it out for a few minutes, put it back, reassemble, and you're good to go.

SOURCE: How do i reset bios password in hp probook 4520s

As a laptop repair tech I often get HP notebooks with an unknown bios password and I use http://www.unlockbiosrecovery.com/Unlock_HP-Compaq_HDD.php to get the bios master password for that HP notebook. They make it easy showing you what information they need to calculate your bios master password which deletes any current bios password. I have used them on a regular basis now and they have worked perfectly, if I have a question I just give them a call and a real human answers that knows all about unlocking bios passwords. Only $20 for the bios master password and they guarantee it to work. Only site to order your bios master password from, no scams and real people with real solutions. They have saved me a lot of time and money.

SOURCE: i need to reset bios administrator password of my hp probook 5310m

If you know the password you can enter the BIOS settings to change the password.. but i stress that you WILL need the current password to do so.

If you do NOT know the current password, you will have to remove the Lithium ION 1.5v battery from the computer, which will require a miniature screw-driver. If you remove the battery for about 30 seconds, the BIOS settings will be cleared to default.

In order to do this I suggest you look up a guide on the manufacturer's website and find out where exactly the battery is housed. It is generally very easy to access the battery, so don't be too scared off by all of the steps provided.

If you are a newer of computer, you can use the bios/cmos password recovery tool from http://www.biospasswordrecovery.com

Wish you luck!

Blinking light on laptop?

From Hp the blinking light indicates sleeping mode. Suggest you push the power button for 20 to 30 seconds. The light should go out. Repower on the computer. If it goes back to blinking mode then there is a hardware issue.

When i switch on my hp probook 4420s it cannot load the operating system but keeps restarting

Try going to bios by pressing del while starting. Check the boot sequence if your HDD is on the list and selected as primary. You can also try HP recovery by pressing F11 key as soon as you power on the laptop.

Bios reset HP Probook 6470b

jackers day:
learn that probooks and hp elitebooks are both enterprise grade PCs that means the PW storage is fully 100% secure.
besides guessing it.
ok. it not stored in NVRAM, ok? it in 1 of 2 places
a custom EPROM or the TPM chip or both.
only they can fix it, HP. nobody else.
I will not tell about hackers, ok?, risking bricking you PC for ever.

admin BIOS password lost
on mine you can have 3 levels set.
1: BIOS PW , admin or users, admin can fix users ok?
2: FINGERPRINT.
3 :AND THE CUTE INTEL BACK DOOR THING.
What is that,? well RTM your manual covers that.
all that magic, but the intel (if turned on) you get to guess 3 questions. if right bingo. you be in,, but I bet 2 and 3 are off.
that is what you paid for... and not cheap.

again ask at hp.com the most complex URL on earth, huh?

How do i locate the hp probook 4520s BIOS password jumper on the motherboard

The 6930p uses the HP Sparekey method of password recovery. The owner sets a password and then completes hints to retrieve it in case it is lost.

They can also register the password with HP and upon providing proper proof of ownership, HP will provide the password the owner registered with HP.

So, if a person can't remember the password or the password hints, they can get it from HP.

If the password wasn't registered, or you are not the original owner, there is nothing you can do to retrieve the password, or clear it.

You will need a new motherboard, or you can strip the notebook for parts (except for the motherboard, which is useless as it is).

Last but not least you can install the Operating System again and this will by pass the Windows password. That would be my option instead of using the computer for a door jam or throwing it out. Just get a System restore disk or another Operating System disk upgrade to Win 7 good software for a laptop.

How do i locate the hp probook 4520s BIOS password jumper on the motherboard

4520s.
you failed because of one reason, you asked on fixya not HP'
why ask here, there are no HP(few) folks here, they are all over at HP, real forum.?
bios resets are tricky,
the new rules changed with UEFI BIOS and or TPM chips added.
back in 2007 the mobo had reset jumper, (mine desktop does)
but not my 2008 elitebook laptop, due to the TPM rules.

first the link to your books
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ProBook-4520s-Notebook-PC/4145198

those cover most issues, you will have. all by HP direct,
page 126 here is not too clear;.
the answer is here
your PC is fully locked now, there is no way to reset it .
without HP direct intervention (fixya can never ever do that)
the send you a special binary flash file that only works on YOUR PC (a fact and is by DESIGN)

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-Notebooks/Probook-4545s-Bios-Password-reset/m-p/6350164#M147169

never use a BIOS password, unless you write it down and hide the paper in a book you know, where it is. (got books?) i know books are now (dead technology but)>?
if you guess and start flashing BIOS, you will BRICK THIS PC.
