I turn the key and nothing happens besides the dashboard lights turn on. my radio and lights all work. the battery voltage is fine too. it doesnt even click as if the battery was dead. the battery is 2 days old. Starter and alternator were checked and they are fine. WHAT COULD THIS BEE

had same problem when my rear wiper motor went out. I had to locate all the rear wiper motor fuses and take them out to stop it. Am now waiting to replace my wiper motor.

Always verify that there are no aftermarket devices causing interference, such as alarms, remote starters or other devices utilizing transponders. Devices that power up the PCM without powering up the PATS Control module can experience no-start concerns. It is probbally a key issue depending on the PATS system in that truck you may have to have more than one key coded into the transponder. Try you spare key.

Before you go changing out the starter check for a burnt out fusible link going to the starter it will look like a wire but acts as a fuse and they burn in two just like a fuse. The symptoms you just describe are those of a burnt fusible link.

their is a solenoid on the passenger side fender. replace it and the engine will crank and start. they are about 15.00 at any of your local auto parts stores. its called a starter relay.
