Question about Sharp AR-168D Black and White Copier

Can't get into test command mode

I have a Sharp AR-168D with the H4-00 error message on. I have found the service manual, and know about the test command mode, but can't get the machine to go into tc mode. I have tried turning it on while holding down the start button, and the clear button, and various combos of buttons, but have had NO success. I have also just keyed in the # *C* sequence repeatedly, but the machine just beeps at me and continues to display the H4-00 message. Can anyone help me with this procedure? My other question is, if I can get the machine to go into test command mode, what is the [10KEY]? On other machines, it is the key that adds 10 copies at a time to the number you want; however, this machine doesn't have one. I'm confused!

System error H4-00

H4 indicates a heating problem in the fuser. The roller never reached a specific temp. Make sure the fuser is free of any left over paper pieces (maybe from a paper jam). Check to make sure its clean.
Try reseting the the error in service mode.
To enter the test command mode, press the keys as
follows one after the other :
[#] key [*] key [C] key [*] key then enter 14 and press start/copy key. this clear error counter. make sure to restart copier afterwards.

The manual says to turn off and unplug the machine and wait for 10 seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it on. If this doesn't get rid of the problem contact your sharp dealer/service man.
