Cannot adjust brightness or contrast

Monitor has touch controls on lower right, but menu selections disappear too quickly, so I can never get to the brightness or contrast selection. Is there a way to change the settings by mouse clicks??

Time to buy a new monitor, especially if you are still running a CRT monitor.

There is nothing you can do without taking the monitor to a repair shop, and that would cost more than the value of the monitor.

SOURCE: Monitor is not showing any red color but when

Red circuits are working. The problem is probably in the video cable. A bent pin or broken wire is the most common cause.

HOW TO SET BRIGHTNESS OF THE SCREEN?

Hi,

Dear User...

You can adjust the brightness and contrast of your monitor to improve the readability of text and to make digital pictures appear more like they'll look when printed.

To improve the results when adjusting the brightness and contrast settings for your display, use Display Color Calibration. (Display Color Calibration helps you adjust these color settings and others.) For more information about calibrating your display color in Windows, see Calibrate your display.

The way you adjust brightness and contrast varies and depends on your specific display.

ā€¢ Brightness and contrast buttons on the front of the monitor. Some monitors have brightness and contrast controls on the front and use the standard symbols shown in the following image.

ā€¢ On-screen menu. You can change the brightness and contrast settings for some displays by using an on-screen menu, and then setting the brightness and contrast in the resulting menu. Many times, you can view the on-screen menu by pressing a button-possibly labeled Menu-on the front of the monitor.

Thanks....

Samsung monitor menu controls (contrast & brightness) inoperable

You're not supposed to be able to use the mouse to adjust these settings. These settings can only be adjusted from the buttons on the monitor!

Please read the user manual for your monitor for exact instructions.

I have an ACER X203H and cannot adjust the contrast or the brightness. I can bring up the MENU, however I cannot adjust because when I HIT ENTER the menu disappears.

Press the Menu key on the Monitor to bring up the dialog box press Menu again because it defaults to the Brightness Icon. You will see the lower half of the dialog box change color. Use the left or right arrow to move off of Acer eColor Management to the User setting. Then press Menu again to edit contrast or brightness. User the left and right arrows on the Monitor to move to the desired adjustment, press Menu to allow adjust then arrow left for less or arrow right for more.
You really just keep moving between the Menu and arrow til you get it right.. I definitely needed to turn down the brightness on my monitor.
