If this is a flat screen maybe the TV isn't capable of decoding the audio you have for the movie. Check to see what audio the TV can decode. For instance: MP3, AC3 etc and check the movie file with a app called mediainfo and go to the audio section and see if your TV is capable of decoding that audio. Also check the extension of the movie file and see if the TV can play those as well. MKV, AVI, MPG, etc.
If your iPod plays video, you can use a docking station that has video outputs on it. Connect the yellow/red/white cable to your TV and change to that input. These usually have a remote control. There are some cables that can connect an iPod directly to your TV. Either way just make sure it is compatible with your version of iPod.
Sorry to say, but a firmware update will not reformat your DVD player into BluRay or HDDVD capabilities.
There is only one way to get your TV to display BluRay DVDs, that is to purchase a BluRay player and connect it to your TV with a HDMI cable, now this will also require your TV to have a HDMI port to connect to, and your TV must be able to display full
1080p resolution,with that said I don't know of a 19" TV that is full 1080p capable,especially not a combo unit.
Good luck !
I would take it back and get another one. If you can try and keep the little fly lead you get with it for the scart.
If you havent noticed but the samsung series 8 LED does not have standard scart ports on the tv at all. there little fly leads that plug into it and have a female type scart adaptor on it.
another good tip for you... Samsung have something called wise link pro there on the newer tv's like yourself. This is a little USB on the television that allows you to plug a Usb stick into it and play MP3 (music), Photo's and allows you to watch VOB, DIVX etc (downloaded films)
save a lot of time transferring these into dvd format etc. Just plug and play.
Note older Samsung has wiselink but not the PRO.... pro allows you to watch films if its not Pro your stuck with mp3, and photo's sorry!!!
Connect your iPod to your TV with a DIY cable The iPod A/V Cable is stylish and handy, but you may feel it's not worth the money; the Belkin cable gives you twice the value per foot but costs the same overall. For a less expensive alternative, find a standard A/V cable with three RCA plugs at one end (coded red, white, and yellow) and a 1/8-inch A/V plug with three bands at the other end.
To set up your iPod for playback, plug the 1/8-inch connector into your iPod's headphone port, and then plug the yellow, white, and red RCA connectors into the RCA jacks on your TV in this non-color-coded way:
We played Wii sports and fit for few hours than tv started to flicker and change colors to green and black and white. We shut down Wii and not TV screen doesn't show any picture. The power is there and the sound... but the screen is just blue. Any one experienced anything similar?
