The above is a link to a free Service Manual.
Scroll down to the subheading -> Pavilion dm1, and click on dm1.
(dm1 in Blue)
Ignore if you are aware;
This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
After you click on the file name (dm1) it may take up to 30 seconds, before the first page comes up.
Moving on...............
1) Remove ALL power. Remove the AC adapter (Charger), and Battery.
2) The plastic frame in front of the LCD screen, is the Display Bezel.
Most laptops have screws that go though the Display Bezel, to help hold it on place. There are synthetic rubber, or plastic Screw Covers over the screws. (Philips)
Not so with this model, ACCORDING to the Service Manual.
->Read ON however............
The Display Bezel has TABS.
The Tabs go around the external perimeter of the inside edge, of the Display Bezel.
These Tabs then snap into matching LATCHES on the Display Cover.
(Display Cover: Cover that surrounds the LCD screen. Top cover with laptop closed )
Since there are no Screws, (or Screw Covers) to remove; the Display Bezel is simply flexed, to remove.
(Read on before you do)
The Display Bezel is made of space-age plastic. Pretty tough stuff.
(Of course there are those who could destroy a steel ball bearing, in a sand box, with a rubber mallet)
Use care when removing.
Come to the Right side/Middle, and INSIDE edge of Display Bezel; with your fingertips. Using your fingertips flex the Display Bezel up, in the middle/inside edge.
This shows you in a video,

According to the Service Manual, the dm1 does not have screws in the bottom corners. The dm3, and dm4 series does.
According to this video the Service Manual is incorrect,
