How to resolve a noisy bearing

the bearings only become noisy if water has leaked past the main seal and into them in which case if its a top loader you will need to replace both bearings the main seal and shaft, it can be quite costly. if its a front loader you will need the main seal and both bearings and will cost twice as much as the top loader as it takes quite alot longer to do

Spin Cycle is very loud on front load washing machine

See here
How to fit a Bearing in a Washing Machine | Appliance Repair Help

  • If a washing machine is rumbling, and very noisy on spin, the main suspect is the drum bearings. Drum bearing failure is common on many washing machines due to water getting into them if the drum bearing seal fails. (Hotpoint and Zanussi in particular in my experience) To check for drum bearing failure you can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand. If the drum rumbles when spun then the bearings may have gone. There should be a constant rumble all the time the drum is revolving.
  • Another drum bearing failure symptom is excessive up and down play in the drum which can be checked for by lifting the drum up and down from the drum lip behind the door seal. A further symptom of drum bearing failure can be a brown rust patch underneath the washing machine and down the back of the outer drum, underneath the drum pulley (where the belt goes) although this patch is not always present. There are usually two small holes at the back of the drum bearings where water that has got past the drum bearing seal trickles out, and it's usually stained with grease and rust if water has got into the bearings.
  • Loud noises when turning the drum by hand can also be caused if the drum itself splits, or the spider at the back of the drum has come away from the drum, is corroded or even broken. This would normally be a loud noise on each revolution of the drum whereas the noise when drum bearings have gone is constant all the time the drum is turning. Lifting the drum checking for excessive play can often reveal a broken or loose drum spider which sometimes only occurs at certain points round the drum (the spider has three arms and is bolted to the drum at three points)

I have a maytag neptune washer mah9700aww which sounds like a jet during the spin cycle can someone please tell me what this is?

The main bearing in the tub has gone out, usually happens form the water seal going out first and the bearing getting rusted. The bearing comes as an assembly with the rear half of the tub. Both the rear half of the tub, and the drum will need to be replaced.

Inside drum of front loader loose bearing in back is ok but drum must have bushing gone how can i change this bushing the drum looks like its sealed

If the inner drum moves or is loose the the inner drum needs to be replaced .At the same time you should replace the rear of the outer drum as this contains the seal and bearings.

The bearings of my Dyson are gone. Are they

can it be fixed? yes.is it easy? no not by a long shot.there are two bearings in the drum one you will never get to needs factory tools to take apart. the other is the main steel bearing the drum spins on.now it is possable to get a patten mached bearing from a bearing supplyers but...this is just the bearing not the water seal and 9 out of 10 times its the water seal that go's and washes the greese out of the bearing and the bearing starts to rust and then grinds itself away and collapes!so it may fix it for a while 3-6 months at a push.plus the bearing is pushed into the drum on a large press like a car wheel bearing.i had to use a 50 ton press to fit my bearing back in! and as to getting the old one out well thats another story.lol alot of people don't have the time or skill to do this so they end up as scrap or on ebay.now i paid alot of money and fitted a stainless steel bearing into mine and its not had a problem in 10 months so if you do give it a go to replace the bearing thats the best way to go.

LG Washer makes LOUD noise when spinning

The main seal is leaking on the drum bearing hence the splatter of soap softened grease The water from the drum is coming through the seal and into the bearing and this is washing the bearing clean of grease. No option than to get it replaced with a new drum bearing kit , Sorry !!

Have to change bearing on front load washer

This link should get you on your way. http://www.applianceblog.com/washers/RearBearingV6.pdf
In addition I should mention that the original bearings are a shielded bearing (Z). Follow the link and use 6306-2RS and 6307-2RS bearings which are sealed. I was able to match up SKF 562737 seal which is now a CR 15939 seal I believe. It is completely rubber coated. Between the sealed bearings and new seal you should be good to go.
