Question about JVC GR-D33E Mini DV Digital Camcorder
When i turn on the camcorder it says remove lens cap but i have already removed it i have a JVC GR-D33EK camcoder. when i insert tape it gives an ERROR 03 asking to eject the tape and reinsert it but does not start working even after doing this. without tape it gets on and looks perfect.

This is a known problem with this model. The cause has been identified by JVC as a failure of the CCD image sensor. Until October 1, 2007, repairs of units exhibiting these problems will be made free of charge at JVC Factory Service Centers.

Unfortunately this is a repair issue. There are several failures that can occur, none of which will be resolved without service, that create this safeguard situation. Often the fpc cable which carries sensor information to the micro has been injured and that requires repair. Good luck, magic seadog

sounds like you have a broken Vcc (Capture chip) This fault is not user repairable, Check with your manufacturer if this item is within warranty, if so then the manufacturer should fix this for free, if not then you will need to have this serviced by a Jvc Service partner.

On page 51 of your manual, it states that an error has occurred and recommends resetting it by removing your battery, waiting a few minutes to clear it, and then resuming. If that doesn't clear the issue, then it may need servicing.
