Psp dont charge

Hi i have a Psp1000 model, i check the fuse on the mainboard for charging, the yellow power i.c plug, all cables. Everything is working. Psp dont charge, when i put charger in console go on with green light with battery power full. console read games. As soon as i remove the charger to psp goes off. Is this a mainboard or software problem. The software is very low. Only a ver 2.50.
scared of upgrading cuase battery should be charge with 75% and not to be connected in charger. scared it would go of and brick my psp
Any help would be much appreciate

I think its one of 3 things

1. the internal power connector
2. part abxy and power switch circuit board
3. bad battery

Hi,
You did a good job in isolating the problem. It does seem that your Power charger port is the culprit. I had the same problem with my unit. What I initially did was I applied slight pressure using my finger pushing the adapter plug in the direction of the start button. Apparently, there was a slight gap between connector inside the PSP charger port and the outside part of the adapter plug. Eventually, I added a small layer of solder to one side of the upper part of the charger plug ( near the top part which is colored yellow ). Dont put too much solder, doing so will cause the adapter plug to not fit inside the port. That fixed the problem for me. !!!As a reminder, please do this if you are experienced in using soldering tools !!!!
If your unit is still under warranty, I suggest you let the Sony Technicians fix it for you.
I hope everything works out. All the best to you.

My psp wont charge

The psp isn't made to charge from usb by default, if you see that small yellow plug in on the either the side or the bottom, you should have a ac adaptor that came with it to plug in there.

My psp wont charge. The battery went flat and now it wont charge. i have tried it on the mains and through my pc.

Hi it would be the fuse on the circuit board or the pin in the charge plug loose look for diagramme for fuse thru google for your model or replace the power charge cable which ever the problem The fuse you need soldering skills and a fine soldering iron or mabee its the battery try to charge it in a friends first. 1xxx will fit into a 2xxx but not visa versa

I am not able to start my PSP 3000 I am using a usb cord to charge the PSP, I am getting the hold light however not getting the power on please assist

When you connect the PSP via the USB, does the orange light power on? If you are using the standard USB cable and attached to the top of the PSP, from experience, it needs at least to have a little amount of battery power. If not, it will not totally power on or charge. You need the A/C adapter to charge the battery pack.

I can charge my PSP through USB cable even if its powered off. I'm using this one:

We have a psp that wont turn on.

You can only charge a slim psp via the usb cable and if no led comes on, take out the battery and try turning the psp on with it plugged into the wall outlet.

If you have multi meter at home make sure that voltage is coming from the adapter.

if the psp have some battery backup check the battery level when u put on charge...

Go to Settings>> System Settings>> Battery Information>>

If you dont have the equipments to check go your nearest electronic service center or sony showroom. Take your charger with the psp so that they can find out the exact problem
