Question about RIM BlackBerry 7290
I do apologize you're having this issue with the Blackberry. I assumed have you have tried different outlets. Try to remove the battery completely for 20-40 seconds, and let it re-boot and try again with putting the charger in. Is it loose? Do you have another charger?
If the icon is not coming up, it's something with the OS we have to update.

Running the application loader is like giving the phone an oil change. You wanna do it 1-2 times a month to keep it moving smoothly. RIM updates their softwares every 2-4 months.

You can desk the battery, but as I said if the icon is not coming up, it's a software problem.
