Your fan is about to go out. It will have to be replaced. Once the fan goes out your laptop will run hot and shut down without notice. To replace the fan calls for disassembling your laptop. Get a quote from your local computer shop, then try the guys at: http://www.generalsystemsconsulting.com They will repair it and ship it back by Fedex or UPS and beat most quotes including the shipping charge.
This over heating issue is a common issue for this model of VAIO Computer. You will get a free service or replacement of parts(Battery) from the Sony Service Center. For more information please follow the link below.

Hope this will help you. All the best.
There are no belts in a computer, sounds like something is rubbing in your computer cooling fan blades, get a can of Duster ( to clean dust from things) and spray the compressed air into all the vent holes to clean out any dust and debris.
I had the same problem with my Vaio, and I called in Sony Support and they called in a technician who came to my house in 2 days! Apparantly Sony got a batch of defective fans and if you are still under warranty they will replace it for free. Good luck!
My pcg-k33 was very noisy (fan) so I vacuumed the fan opening with a powerful shop vac. This helped alot. I think that the CPU temperature triggers the fan so keeping the cooling system clean is important. As well, there are openings on the bottom for air so it is important to keep the unit on a surface that doesn't impede airflow (on your lap is a bad idea)
If you know how to open up the back cover of the laptop,it is easy to take out the fan unit, have it clean up or replace with a new fan( not very expensive items ).other alternative is to get the service centre to do it,also not very costly.hope it help
