Question about HP Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

Paper jam occurred, now printer wont print.

A paper jam occurred on my hp 6280. I extracted 3/4 of a sheet through the back of the machine. I cant find the remaining 1/4 sheet. Now, when i punch print the machine will go through the print cycle and the paper comes out blank, no print. This happens on photo prints also. The photo tray stays in the back of the printer after the print cycle. How do i correct this? Thanks

1. 1 Switch off the printer and disconnect the powersupply. Allow any residual charge to fade away before putting your hands ormetal tools inside the chassis. 2. Step 2 Pin down the exact location of the jam. Thethree hot spots for a jam are the paper tray, anywhere between the feed trayand the print carriage, or between the print carriage and the output tray. 3. Step 3 Take off the front paper tray if the sheet gotstuck while it was still in the front area of the printer. If the sheet jammedhere, you should be able to see most of the paper. 4. Step 4 Pull on the sheet with both hands and steadypressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a chunk of it deeperin the machine. 5. Step 5 Open the back panel to reach paper jammedbetween the feed tray area and the print carriage of the all-in-one printer.Carefully remove the jammed paper from the machine. 6. Tip

Steps to clear paper jam.

Please perform the below steps.

1. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or any metal tools inside the chassis.

2.
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.

3.
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

4.
Pull the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.

5.
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.

6.
Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to remove the print carriage to get to the jam.

7.
Replace all parts and return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

PAPER JAM. NO PAPER IN MACHINE BUT STILL GET PAPER JAM SIGNAL. OCCURRED IN MIDDLE OF PRINTING PG 2 OF 2 PG JOB. I CAREFULLY REMOVED THE HALF-PRINTED SHEET, PRESSED "OK" AND IMMEDIATELY GOT "PAPER JAM"...

the first step you should do is.
> unplug the power cable from the printer and then plug it back in.
> clean all the rollers which are there.. front rollers, adf rollers.. rollers at the back ..
> if does not work then. perform a reset.
( unplug the power cable from the printer while the printer is on. and after that press and hold the 6 and the # key on the printer. while holding and pressing down these keys plug in the power cable and wait fr 20 secs and then release the buttons.. )
this is a reset..
after this reset it will take few minutes to initialize.

These steps will possibly resolve the issue.. if not i must suggest to to get a new printer..

Paper jam light is on

Hi! I have the same issue. The only solution I still use: select print from document with no paper in the hp's feeder. Let the printer go on "paper out" message, now put the paper into the feeder and press the print button on the printer. Success!
