Can i fix the L2 fuse in my DS lite with just a conductor pen or do i need the l2 piece and have to solder it

Hi, sorry I missed your comment on my previous answer, you need to actually replace the L2 inductor, simply bridging the solder joints will not work :(

I have a ds lite and L2 is Broken can I just jump this with a wire or do I have to replace it?

Hi,

The L2 component is there for a reason and although a lot of people do bridge it I personally would never bridge over any component as this may cause further issues with your DS and possibly renter it unrepairable.

You can get a repacement L2 component for a reaosnable price on ebay.

The L2 bit has broken of my nintendo ds lite motherboard, i'm wondering if i glue it back on, will it still work?

possibly not... go to a technology place and ask for a repair. because glue might destroy the inside of your ds, making more damage

Power is on but my nintendo ds lite stays blank (black screen) both screens

Hi,

Did your DS get a small bang?

The problem you are having is the L2 fuse located immediately below the on/off switch when you open up the DS (lower screen).

If you give the DS a very mild rattle you will here it rattling around loose inside the DS (in most cases). A lot of the time this same fuse can be soldered back into place to fix the problem all you need is a soldering iron and a triwing screwdriver (eBay).

If it is this fuse and you cant find it, you should bring it back to Nintendo for repair or your local PC repair shop should be able to help.

Nintendo ds won't turn on

Many times, it is the L2 Inductor chip that has popped off on impact- that's usually what you hear rattling around inside the housing...and it requires a TriWing screwdriver to open it. I tried re-soldering the L2 inductor back on the mainboard inside with a Hakko ESD protective soldering station, and it worked for a few days and then died again. The fix was finally desoldering another SMD inductor chip off an old PIII Socket 370 motherboard (with ChipQuik removal solder and flux kit) of very close to the same size class, from next to the Clock Generator Chip- figured it would be close to the right value, since I had no way to measure the micro- or millihenries value, and the voltage was around the value that the DS Lite runs on. The fix worked, and is still working, charging, and going strong. Usually the symptoms of the L2 inductor popping off, or failing, is being able to charge, but not being able to power up.

Nintendo DS Lite Problem

That sounds like your DS lite have a lose circuit part rolling inside so thats why it cant turn on.

You need to open the console, recover the lose part from the inside and resolder it in its place (usually near the power switch, marked as L2). That should fix the problem, if not then you might have blown fuses, lose screens ribbon cables or broken LCD screens. All of these repairs are discussed in other questions here.

For the L2 L4 inductor specification, I check the following website, on there have original L2,l4 inductor power and specification

By the way,L2,L4 is not fuse,
It is Inductor power
