Question about Sony Handycam DCR-TRV280 Digital Camcorder

Sony TRV-260 Has No Power

Camera was stored and discovered in a box. Bought new charger set and battery for it. When the battery is snapped in place, nothing happens. I see a DC input slot below the battery but we have no cord to fit it. 1) Do we need a separate adapter to charge the camera? 2) If not, any ideas why it will not turn on with a new battery fully charged? 3) Internal fuse anywhere?

Tried the pencil eraser-no luck. We do not have another camera to try the battery in. Do not know anybody who has one either.

Please confirm new battery on another Sony camera before suspecting your own camcorder.

Fujifilm battery fully charged but camera says no charge or very little. Just bought a new Duracell Battery and Charger for my Fuji FinePix J10 Camera. Used the charge on the battery in the camera from...

Well you mentioned that it worked fine yesterday with the battery out of the box. That should tell you that the camera and the battery are both fine. The issue is likely the charger itself. Try recharging it again, and double check that you inserted the batteries correctly, and that any switches (such as for 2 or 4 battery charge) are set in the correct position on the charger. If this doesn't work, take the charger back to the store for exchange/refund as defective.

I am trying to charge my sony digital camera after a long time. I am not getting the charger light indication. Can you please tell me what i have to do

Was your Sony camera battery power off before you store it for a long time? If so, it should have make a great damage of your Li-ion rechargeable battery. The best way to store your Li-ion camera batteries is to keep the Acer batteries at cool and dry places at optimal temperature of about 20 degrees with only about 40% power remained.

I cant get my camera to turn on. thanks for your

Fist charger your SONY Cyber-shot DSC-W120 battery and clean the connect place of the battery and camera. Please make sure that the battery has been charged by the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 charger. Li-ion batteries life is about 2-3 years, and if you have stored your battery with no power for a long time, the battery maybe has been damaged. When store Li-ion batteries you should charged it at about 40% first.

Use a firewire cab le to connect to the computer. Then open Windows Movie Maker to capture. With Digital-8 you may have to start the camera manually. eg. push the play button on the camera

Regular AA batteries have a very short life in camera

Regular Alkaline AA's don't last very long you are so right and it's a wonder because they actually pack more power but just don't have the staying power in I'll say most digital point and shoot cameras. I can only suggest that you purchase a four pack of rechargeable batteries and a charger, you will find way more then double the life or use before needing to recharge the batteries.
Again I can only suggest when you are buying rechargeable batteries for your camera look for a new type that will say on the package (no doubt in fine print) that the batteries will hold up to 80% of their power for one year. That is the key to having batteries with power when you want or need the camera. The batteries are only 2000mAh NI-MH but will hold their own up against the 2700mAh I use in some of my other equipment. I first started to use this "new" type of long lasting battery about two years ago first produced under the "Sony" label and have since seen them under no-name labels at the department store check out for a pretty cheap price in comparison but they were batteries only not the charger. So the first hurt is getting four batteries with a charger and you will be good to go. The key think here is to see first if it says on the package ready to use and another holds up to 80% of it's power for one year I use a lot of battery power with remote photography sets and I'll eventually switch my batteries over to this type.
Cheers I know this will help your situation have a great day

Sony handycam got wet now wont recharge or work off batteries dcr trv 270

you can try removing everything you can remove from it, i,e battery and anythig else detachable.
Place it in a warm dry place for 24 hours. Airing cupboard, on top of or near a radiator ( wrapped on on a towel to avoid direct heat.
then open the dvd drive door, and gently blow warm air into it with a hair-dryer ( medium setting )
try again after it,s thoroughly dried out.
replace the battery, and try again.
If this does,nt work, i,d suggest buy a replacement, or make a clain on your insurance, for contents if you have one.
Mike @ compurepair.
p.s it,ll cost more to repair, than to buy a new one, and never be the same camera again.
good-luck Mike.

Rechargeable Battery won't charge

I think this is a general Fuji design fault in the camera circuitry. I have an older F455 which has exactly the same problem and I did the same - bought new batteries only to discover that didn't help. The only solution is to spend even more money for a stand alone battery charger.
