Paper jam we have a paper jam, and not sure how to fix the problem

Some times when the paper is not picked up by dirty or worn wheels it will show a jam but there will be no paper in the machine. clean pickup wheels with clean and see if paper feeds in. most likely will jam on the first one but paper may feed in. If this does not solve problem then you have other problems such as switch out of place, broken switch etc. Does it show jam when you turn on or shows jam after you try to print.

make sure that at the point where you add the paper for printing that you have the scale for the weight of paper in use
there is a small adjuster there

Please follow the steps below to fix the problem:

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Try to reach for the paper jam.

3. If paper jam can't be reached, open the printer cover to access the cartridge area. You may be able to get a better hold of the paper jam in the cartridge area.

4. Remove the paper jam and make sure not to tear or leave any torn piece of paper in the printer.

When paper jam is clear, try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

If problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

First, make sure there is not a paper jam. This printer can have a paper jam in many places and you need to remove any doors or covers to look for paper. If you are sure that there is not one, then it could be a faulty sensor. Not good news becasue it will probably be cheaper to buy a new one than get it fixed.

What make and model do you have? I have experienced (and fixed) similar trouble with Lexmark.

Any paper jam has to be cleared first but after it is clear, re-insert the paper tray, make sure all doors are closed then hold down the
"GO" button until only solid green shows.

Where is the paper jam ???? If you have a paper jam in the back of your printer it maybe the fuser unit.....Make sure thaht you don't have a little peace of paper somewhere in the paper path...

For your drum, did you reset the drum counter ????Normally the instruction for resseting the counter is in the drum box...
