GE side by side refrigerator-freezer daily makes loud grrrrrnng noise. Sporadic. Comes from area just above ice maker. Makes no difference if I turn ice maker off. Any ideas what is causing this?

Many ice maker sporadically turn to keep ice from freezing together and becoming a solid block of ice. This would occur even if the ice maker is turned off in order to keep the ice already made from freezing. It is generally short and not that loud. I'm surprised you find it disturbing.

Could some please post how to remover the ice maker from my kitchen aid model ktrc 19 m refrig thank you

Look right above the icemaker part that forms the cubes. Its usually brown in color, Just above it are 2 extensions of that brown part that has 2 screws going into the left side of the freezer, Remove the 2 screws and the unit comes out. The power plug for it is just to the back bottom of the ice maker. If you can see it you can probably just unplug it to stop the noise.

We noticed the same error ER FF on our display this morning. And the fan was making the same loud-troubled noise. So far I unloaded the ice from the ice maker and turned off the icemaker. The noise stopped,...

If you turned off the ice maker, I suggest you unplug the ice maker connection cord so the frig system is not compromised by any default in the ice maker. Next, unplug the frig from the electric receptacle and wait 5 minutes, then re plug. This many times will allow the control circuit to reset itself and the failure/error codes will usually diappear (if nothing else is wrong).
Note: any time you disconnect power to a frig or air conditioner, always wait 3-5 minutes before restoring power to give the compressor time to settle before forcing it to start again; this makes a big difference some times. Good Luck, Macgivor.

Regrigerator stopped, now freezer too.

It is due to the defrost timer is not working. Once it is replaced, you should be good for another year. The information is given by the repairman. I have this replaced two days ago. The MayTag part number is: 61005988.

Loud Buzzing noise

Sounds like the fan is hitting some ice build-up. If you can access the area of the fan motor you can try a hair dryer to defrost the ice out of it.

LG refrigerator makes loud noise and then stops running.

You are seriously frozen up. Defrost the unit completely. Then, be aware that 'window shopping', leaving uncovered liquids in the box and poor door sealing (too heavy a load on the door ... too much on shelves) can cause condensation. Defrost with hot air or leave unplugged and open for about 2 days. You'll see alot of water come out.
