Hai, Oshe thanks for your quick comment abt ur Model.
Regarding you sound card drivers plz download Conexant High Definition Audio Driver at HP . You have to extract and manually update this from Device Manager (Control Panel).

For any other issues plz refer the Post here at http://www.laptops-drivers.com/hp-laptop/how-to-install-xp-into-hp-g7000-laptop.html

Hope this will resolve !

ok .. here is what you do plz provide me the Vendor and Device IDs.

Every device has a Vendor and Device id associated with it. If you can find this ID, you can find the manufacturer. In Windows it's easy to find the vendor and device id.

    1. Open Device Manager (Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager)

    2. The hardware(here check under Sound,Video,GameController) whose drivers are missing will appear as Unknown device, so it's easier to locate the device.

    3. Right click on the unknown device and click on Properties.

    4. Under the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id from the drop down box.

    5. You should see a code similar to this

      PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27DC&SUBSYS_30868086
      &REV_01\4&1E46F438&0&40F0

    6. Vendor ID = 8086 (four digits after VEN_)
Device ID = 27DC (four digits after DEV_)

This driver from HP ought to work:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?lc=en&cc=us&softwareitem=ob-40619-1

Just follow the instructions on their website for the installation.

HP does not supply XP audio drivers for your model. This is why I directed you to the generic driver for the sound card in your notebook. It should work fine.

    Cheers

I got this laptop from my uncle everthing was working good,it had vista on it, but since iam a gamer i installed sp3 xp on it, and now i can't install the Sound, so..any help`?

Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://support.hp.com
and enter the model-number of the computer, and do a search.
Select "download", and select "Windows XP", and select the "audio" device-driver.
Download it, and install it.

Cant hear sound after changing the operatin system

You need to reinstall all mobo drivers for that system. Go to vendors site and download / install.

NB = Always install chipset drivers first.

Downgraded to Win XP. Cant find graphic & audio drivers HP G7000

Hi,
You can make the Vista a bit faster by turning off some services which you don't use, using a good antivirus software which is also light on the system. Also, you can add more RAM. Then when Windows 7 is released, you can install that. Windows 7 is faster and better compared to Vista.

Hope this helps. For more assistance please reply. Thanks.

No sound

Go to Compaq site, and check if there are drivers for win xp. Mind that xp does not include drivers for the most recent hardware. Have you tried installing sp2 and sp3? These carry more recent drivers than SP1 and older vesions. And if there are no drivers for xp, you are stuck with vista.
