Can`t sync my joy stick with my pc

Is your PC set up with plug n play? Is the joystick set up to just plug n play? I mean if not then it won't be as easy as plugging it in a usb port. Some things need a software disc. That joy stick may need a device driver.
As a Fixya friend of yours ,I am providing a link to the Logitech site for this exact joystick so hopefully with a couple clicks you can match your computer on their site with this joystick and maybe download the driver needed for it....maybe. I do not know what system you are using nor the year of the joystick so it's up to you to put in the effort to see if you can obtain the driver. I am giving you this link only if you promise to remember not all devices are made to just plug into a universal serial bus and presto okay? Good luck.

Tip

Installation, and testing the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick

The joy stick comes with a CD. Put the CD on the tray, and let the computer runs the software. On the CD there are driver for the joy stick itself, and driver for the USB . click on install joystick, after that, click on install the USB drive. that is it. Then a test screen will appear and asks you to check your joystick movements and buttons .push on the buttons,on the joystick, and you will see that they turn red on the computer screen each time you push a button, meaning your computer reads the commands from the joystick, You are set.
If you do not have the CD, then go to the Logitech site. and go to support, and from there you can download the drivers for the joystick.

The port of the Gravis Thunderbird II joystick is really weird and I don't know where to connect it.

More than likely you're looking at a serial connection and you may not have a serial port on your computer. What you would need in this case would be a serial to usb converter. You can find these on amazon.com or any other site that offers cables/converters etc.

I hope this helps! If this did help you, please give a thumbs up!

What adaptor must have for my computer? the joystik have not usb.

Hi,
I too have this exact same joystick so when I tried to plug it into my new pc (that I built 2 yrs ago as of Feb.14,11) I had to use a: 15-pin to USB adapter with chord.
I got it from eBay.ca in the $5-$10 range shipped to me from Chnia.

It's called the: Super Joy Box 7 USB Gameport Adatper

They are still available from eBay.ca & eBay.com as of Dec.06,10 (the time of writing this posting).

For me it wokrs, but only 1/2 - as in:
- the fire button + 3 other buttons - work fine
- the HAT switch (4-way) - refuses to work
- the full range of the joysticks motions are reduced (on the right side)

Because of these limitations I had to learn to used the keyboard buttons to fly planes & choppers in the pc game - GTA:SA.
I plan to buy the pc game GTA4 as soon as it goes down in price of it's current $20 & buy a...

Suncom Technologies F-15E Talon

i will buy both stick and throttle off of you..."if" the price is right. ;-)

anyway...this is old technology stuff...as it is non-USB and windows xp and other new windows don't like Suncom stuff too much. but it can be done. attach the Talon stick to the throttle via it's two plug in ends. you'll see how they plug into the back of the throttle. once that's done, attach a NON-USB keyboard (to make the stick and throttle programmable) into the back of the throttle via the backside of one of the plugs from the stick that you plugged in earlier.

go to Radio Shack or elsewhere and buy a Belkin or whatever "joystick port to USB converter" unit. the salesman should know exactly what it is. cheap...maybe 8 to 10 bucks. also while you are there, buy a big keyboard end to little keyboard end (not USB) end converter adaptor. maybe four of five bucks for this. it converts the really old (BIG) keyboard ends to the more 'normal' (SMALLER) keyboard ends that are usually on the back of your computer. okay, almost done.

plug the USB converter into the big joystick port plug that is attached to the split line that is coming out of the back of your throttle, it's only go on one way so should be easy to do. attach the 'now' USB converted plug end into a USB port on your computer. the "OTHER" end of the split 'throttle' cable end will have that BIG keyboard end on it...plug the BIG to LITTLE adaptor that you bought into that...and simply plug it into the back of your computer where a standard keyboard plugs in.

viola! you are done with that. you may have to monkey around with the switch on the USB adaptor to get the thing working right. it has several settings on the slider switch for different things. try one till you get the one that works best.

go into window's control panel and pull up your GAME CONTROLLERS program. it should now show USB ADAPTOR CONNECTED in the joystick window. configure as per usual and test. there may be some jerky stuff while configuring but keep trying till you get it like you want it. that's it. go in game and TRY it out. some adjustments (trial an error) may be needed, but it should now show up in game and with the keyboard attached, all buttons on both throttle and stick should now be programmable and useable.

not perfect, but it will work fairly well. remember, this is old technology and it is hard to get and keep it tuned into the newer working systems. you may occasionally lose your stick, and have to RE-CONFIGURE all over again. a small price to pay for a WONDERFUL, REALISTIC fighter stick! u can email me if you get into a jam.
