you might have to get a portable usb sound card if you mean dont have a sound card installed or control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have selected the right speakers or control panel, administrive tools, computer management, device manager, sound, could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers hope this helps
the speakers on the computer might have gone bad so connect external speakers> if they work then the internal speakers have gone bad> or else go to the Control panel> select sound> see if speakers are the Default device or not> if not select so
If I were you I would shut down the computer, completely remove the card from the computer, reboot. Make sure you go into the device manager and look and see that everything about the soundcard is removed from there as well..
Turn the machine off and reinstall the sound card, Verify all your connections, and then turn it back on and let windows re-detect and install your drivers as needed.
You do not have to hook up that cable you have been talking about, it is not needed. Just make sure your speakers are plugged in to the right speaker output jack on the back of the soundblaster card.
Let me know if this resolves your problem. and please rate if it does. Thanks.
opk where did you buy your pc from? from a friend, a store so on... if your pc is new then i would say it is nothing serious you have probably just got the headphones or speakers in the wrong socket. check the back of your pc there will be a number or round coloured holes. each hole has a different purpose. green is speakers pink is microphone and the other colours are for better sound systems. check to make sure that your speakers are turned on and the speacker 3.5mm jack goes into the green round socket at the back of your pc. if that doesnt solve it contact me and i will help you furthur
