Have you tried waiting to see if problem fixes itself?

Stupid question but some people may not know that your computer sometimes fixes things at startup and that takes time and freezes out yur computer.

If not try safe mode, if that works your drivers are messed up and you need to fix or replace them.

If thats not it try using your restore or OS cd's to (completely redo or fix problem) by logging in with cd starting up

follow directions

If that doesn't work check for short or opens with a qualified tech.

I hope this helped.

My lenovo R400 won't recognize my password when I'm trying to log in. How do I fix this?

Are you sure your password was with all lowercase letters? Are you sure that as you type each keystroke registers on the screen? Watch the screen as you type your password slowly and make sure it moves with each keystroke. A bad keyboard will cause a problem with your password. If all the above does not solve it turn off your computer, then turn it on and hit the F8 key repeatedly until you see an option that allows you to log into Safe Mode. Take the Safe Mode Option and when it boots up hopefully and depending on your operating system it will give you a log in for the Administrator and for the user which you forgot the password. Log in as the Administrator and hopefully you have not password protected it. Once you log in successfully go to Start/Control Panel/User Accounts. Once you are in User Accounts, select the user account that you forgot the password for and select the option to Remove Password. Then restart your computer.

WON'T LET ME LOG ON WITH PASSWORD THAT USED TO WORK NOW IT WON;T LET ME LOG IN

You can remove or change the Windows User oradministrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access todownload the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot upthe laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CDwhich contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removalprogram. Click on one of these links todownload HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

I forgot my password to log on to my gateway laptop model # mx3560

Try loading computer in safe mode. You can do this by repeatedly pressing F8 upon start up it will take you to an advanced options menu. Within there select safe mode by using arrows to navigate up and down. Then press enter when safe mode is highlighted. When it loads it will look alot different DONT FREAK OUT! :) Then there will be a couple of user accounts u can try logging into them and leaving the password field blank. Some times there are accounts w/o a password and will allow access into computer. From there you can create a new password within the control panel & user accounts

The computer won't log me on.

Make a backup copy of all your data, including passwords, emails, settings, etc

Find another windows xp computer whether its a friends or another computer you have and get a memory stick or external hard drive ( which you will need ) on the working computer go into

c:\documents and settings

make a copy of the default user folder and copy that over the one on your laptop and try again.

I rebooted my system in 'safe mode' (which allowed me to login as
administrator), moved my files to the public area, and then deleted my
profile (using the Users option in Control Panel).

When I rebooted again, in normal mode, I could login as administrator, and
then moved my files back and rebuilt my profile manually.

The only problem was my forgetting about e-mail messages, which I did not
backup and have been lost permanently. Ug!!!
