Question about Frigidaire Dryers

Frigidaire dryer problem

Hi i work for a 96 unit apartment complex and we are have some issues with our dryers the unit is a frigidaire stackable unit model number mlxe42rew2, we have people complaining that the units are not drying,the dryer duct has two 90 degree turns and has a length of about 15 feet,yearly i clean out the duct work with a brush. im not sure what else to do everything seems to be working corectly,,any suggestions????

The vent duct length's sound fine.

Have you confirmed that the heater element is working? You don't mention whether the unit get's hot.

If it get's hot, then suspect the thermostat, or the overtemp stat.

Also, be suspect that users are overloading the dryer.

Also make sure that you feel a strong blast of hot air discharging at the vent end, with the washer/dryer in place.

Check that the vent grills inside of the dryer are clear.

Hello - Generally speaking, Frigidaire laundry centers do not have fuses. The unit has a thermal limiter usually located in the dryer.

I have a Frigidaire Gallery Stackable that has a screechy dryer


Sounds like it is worn out. Get a parts diagram and take it apart and see what parts are missing or worn out. The belt is probably coming apart and that is the black stuff. There are several plastic wear plates and a bearing/bushing for the drum, plus the belt idler and all these can wear out. The motor could also have a bad bushing in it but more than likely that will require a new motor as they don't usually sell just the bushing or end caps.
