Im trying to install my F5D7001 wireless desk top card but I don't have the cd is there something I can do to insstall it. Or do you have a cd that I would be able to copy off line?

Go to Belkin website and go to support page or search for installation file/drivers for your model number - they should have a downloadable file to walk you through set up.

I've spoken to who provides my wireless network and they insist that my Dell laptop is the problem for not being able to connect. I really dont know much about what they were saying but what they had...

If your using a router to get wireless from a DSL connection and your laptop isn't detecting the signal it is most commonly the wireless card in the computer, hence their response. If you can access the router to check what channel it is transmitting on you may be able to change that to resolve the issue. On my cisco router it transmitted on channel 6 by default and my laptops wouldn't detect it, I changed it to transmit on channel 5 and the laptops work fine. I assume they checked if your router was compatible with your computer so I won't go into the type G wireless vs Type B or N wireless. The uninstall/install process they recommended is not hard and shouldn't hurt anything if you do that. On Vista Open Control Panel->System->Device Manager then go down the list of devices to Network Devices and select your wireless adapter and right click, from that drop menu select uninstall and close everything and reboot the computer. When the computer starts up again it will automatically detect the wireless card and reinstall the drivers from the windows system copy. Make sure the wireless device is actually manually turned on before doing any of these steps. Once the device is installed again you should be able to detect the wireless signal from the router they supplied. If not there is one more place to look in the router itself unless you are familiar with router settings I don't recommend you do these though. If you still don't detect the router signal call your supplier back and have them go through the router connections with you and when they say it's your computer you can tell them it works fine with others and you removed and installed the device as they advised and the fault is in their router.

Can not change the wireless channel

A very good question!
I'd love to answer this. Belkin utility at times has some bugs. As you said you have downloaded the latest version of drivers and utility. Latest drivers are good but utility will not be of much use, I, as a technician would highly recommend that you use Wireless Zero Configuration in case of Win XP or WLAN Auto-config in case in case of Win Vista or Win 7. But if you have older versions of Windows, older than Win XP, only then utility has to be used. Enable WZC and WLAN A-C in Microsoft Services(Local) page.

Start > Run > services.msc > Ok > Services (Local) > Start the service.

At worst instances, if you are forced to use the utility, remove all SSID (wireless network names) from My Connections. Note: Remove all of them completely.

Also, i would recommend that you configure your wireless mode to be "802.11g only" on the router as F5D7001 is a 802.11g standard PCI card, and also turn ON the wireless PROTECTED MODE on the router. This will enhance the performance of your wireless devices in cases of heavy wireless traffic.

This is sure to work! Again, thanks for such a question.

Wirless signal problem

Make sure there is no interference, such as microwaves or cell phones that operate at 2.4ghz. Do you have many thick inside walls between your router and your computer? You could try a signal boosting antenna to attach to your router.

Wireless card suddenly cannot detect any signals

I would suspect ya adapter.. the ONLY way to sort it is to try it in another PC see if it works.. USB devices seem to be very flimsy and we get heaps of 'em in the shop.. 9 times outa 10 it's the USB device gone weird.. substitution is the only way to isolate the problem.

My F5D7001 won't work

Check the settings with your wireless router and also If the wireless network is available.
Renew your Ip address. Disconnect and connect your device.

If you're using the belkin software, only install the driver of the card instead of the wireless utility.
Try using Windows Wireless utility.

Driver f5d7001

The F5D7001 come in two versions, V1 or V2, you must use the correcr driver for the version card that you have.
Look on the box it came in for a lable that shows (ver 2001) which it what mone says, you only need the first number so my card in Version 2.

Belkin offer two downloads for each version one is just the driver for Win2K and XP, the other is the Driver and Software. Just make sure you have the right version.
