I was thinking the cmos battery was dead myself. Can't see how its over heating since I run a cooling stand when I use it and keep it clean of dust and the casing is never hot to touch. Thank you for your reply and help.

Asus Eee 1005HA hangs on boot

This works for my Asus Eee PC
1. Shut down and remove the battery.
2. Press the power button 10 times, next 1 minute pressing down.
3. Remove the memory and at the motherboard you'll see a clrrst (clear reset cmos..)
4. Short these 2 tiny pads by placing a tiny screw driver for 5 seconds, plug the power adapter and turn-on the switch, next wait at least for 3 seconds. Remove the power adapter.
5. Place back the battery and turn-on. You'll see the same screen (Logo of Asus) then patiently wait for at least 10 minutes or more. That's it.Good luck.

My tecra A6-ez6311 won't boot up when 'hot'.

I am pretty sure you have a root kit virus. Some would try to fix this, and some to be certain will wipe the disk and start over.
I try to hunt out the problem. Every computer that acts like this that I have seen have been Toshiba's with 512 to 1megmb of memory. They do have issues with the power plug being lose which is attached to the battery charge, so do not rule that out. Heat and time are what it could also be. You may have both a virus and power issue. it happens but not often. If it is virus only, I can fix this remotely with my services for $180 money back. I can tell in the fist hour if I can get it. Might not be worth it.

I need audio driver for my ASUS A6 Series laptop

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

There's the place to start; unfortunately asus makes it a pain to get direct links to files so you'll hafta navigate their selections, the A6u is found in there:

Notebooks > A6000 > A6U

From there they request your operating system version, and that's about it... the drivers are laid out right in front of you.

I hope that goes well for you.

My Asus A6 Entertainment Series Notebook Won't Boot Up/ More...

go to

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

use the auto find function for new users and this will install a Auto Find Navigation Tools on to your computer,
Let the tool find your motherboard and it will give you a list of the drivers available and Manuals as well

There is a NB Probe available for this model and it will tell you all about the devices and the operating temperatures of each device installed,ie,hard drives, fan speed and temperature,
memory installed ,cpu usage etc......

Very simple to use and its free thanks ASUS

Asus a6 notebook charging

If the notebook works while plugged in the it is the battery. If more than a couple years old then it may need to be replaced. First try recalibrating the battery. There maybe a utility in the BIOS, CMOS, System Setup or in the control panel to do this. If not, see if there is a utility to download from the manufacturer's site.
If the laptop does not work at all then it is probably the power jack on the motherboard. This would have to be fixed by swapping out the motherboard, replacing the jack on it or taking to a local technician.

Hope this helps!
