Re: Hotpoint Aquarius WF220 Front Load Washer dirty...
Its a matter of removing the front retaining wire and the inner one which holds it onto the drum, an easy enough job to get off, sometimes a pain to get the inner off and on depending whether it s the screw or clamp type , screw=easy. to get the clamp off use a screwdriver to wiggle the bent wire out of the ratchet grooves. to put back is done with long nose pliers, preferably bent nose ones.

For most front-loaders: Lubricate the slot which fits over the tub with washing-up fluid.
Starting at the top, press the seal so the flange of the tub enters the
slot on the seal. Work your way round the using thumbs to force the slot
on the tub flange. When slot is on the flange all way round, fit the
spring which holds it on. The spring goes into a slot on the outside of
the seal. This is quite difficult and you may need another pair of
hands.Fit the outside of the seal to the cabinet - this
is easy and fit the plastic clamping ring. Test for leaks before
using. Use rinse to test as the water level is higher. (There is no glue anywhere, only clamps, etc)
If ther is no filter at the front of washer, then remove lower rear panel of washer.
Locate and remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose, also remove hose onto pump, and check for obstruction here and in the pump.

Hi, A bleach based cleaner should improve things. It sounds like its a form of mildew , an airbourne fungus that likes damp places. Once bleached it should stay clear for a while. Make sure you rinse it after to avoid damaging your clothes. Hope this helps, Nick.
