Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC

Football Manager 09 has stopped running

I have had football manager 09 since christmas and it has been running fine, but when i went to play it yesterday, it came up with the following message 'not well-informed (invalid token) at line 1 of profile 0.xml

could anyone help me with this problem or give me a website that i could use to find out

On desktop icon fm09 click on properties and then in target wrote this: (only Bold) fm.exe" --reset_preferences

before this two minuses you MUST press Space.

Hoping someone can help - I was playing Football manager 2009 on my laptop but the battery died. After charging it again when i tried to play it again an error came up saying 'xml parsing error - not well...


You could go into your Add/Remove programs and select the program for removal/repair. if it comes with the repair feature, you'll probably be taken throyugh a series of options, otherwise uninstalling it and reinstalling it all over again would be the last resort.

even tho you have not stated what game it is, i would believe it is Football Manager 09 (?)

Try deleting the Settings folder from the following program path as detailed below:
» Windows XP:
My Computer -> Local Diskâ (C:) -> Documents and Settings -> <username> -> Application Data ->
Sports Interactive -> Football Manager 2009 -> Settings
» Windows Vista:
Computer -> Local Diskâ (C:) -> Users -> <username> -> AppData -> Roaming -> Sports Interactive
-> Football Manager 2009 -> Settings

Football manager crashes when playing a match


Close the game.
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Username>\Application Data\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\settings\
Delete all folders (NOT the settings one, but the sub-folders)

If problem persists, please copy error exactly.

just right click on ur game icon and go to compatibility mode and enable the winows xp mode or enable the run as administrator mode... after that apply and click on ok.. and run ur game....
