XP SP3 installed and HP software for the HP unit.
Printing and Faxing = OK
Scanner (using HP software) = requires HP driver CD to be in drive and appears to reload the scanning program again - it seems to be stuck in some sort of loop of "configuring".
The unit has been deinstalled and reloaded, latest updates downloaded from HP but the scanning problem is still present.

Hi, HP site said Vista doesn't support these scan buttons. Must scan using Paint. What a pain. MS should be ashamed of themselves.
you have to download and install from here(XP 32bit) :
h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=uk&product=79477&lang=en this :HP Officejet and PSC Full Feature Software and Driver
and this: Critical update to resolve an issue with HP Director after installing a new revision of Internet Explorer
The HP OfficeJet 6110 is actually a series of All-in-One Printers. Take a look at the following site (actually the HP (UK) site) and download the driver from that page. Hopefully, this will sort things out for you. Source(s):

Are you using the software from HP? It sucks. If the HP software is not working correctly, then Use the one provided my your operating system works great. Go your Control Panel, Printer and other Hardwares and click Scanners, make a shortcut to your task or start menu and Scan Away. For Faxes, etc. import in outlook or other email client, etc.
It works fine on XP, I am using it with XP SP3 currently. You should download the current driver from Minolta. Install the software before hooking up the scanner. I prefer to remove any existing drivers and re-boot before installing new drivers.
