1 - you have to have the tray all the way down
2 - you have to do carpet in segments of about 4X6 or foam will just get absorbed by carpet
3 - carpet may be too old and dirty so it breaks up the foam very quickly

Do not expect to pick up 100% of what you put in. If you get 30-40% out - GREAT.
When drying shampoo does not led the dirt stick back to the fibers so this is why it is recommended to vacuum after carpet dries.

My kirby shampooer doesnt seem to be placing foam on the floor like it should and it's not picking up any at all

Mine did that once and we were missing the filter part on the end of the shampoo hose attachment.fits on the end of the hose. Bought a new one at the Kirby store for cheap. It looks like a filter screen and without it just seems to soak the carpet without foaming up or cleaning it very well.

I have the ultimate g kirby. the green the brush doesnt spin when i turn it on and the belt is on correctly. whats the problem

You will find videos at this site that might be of help to you.
http://www.kirby.com/Portals/0/videos.html
If the brush does not spin you probably should remove it and clean well. Also, on each end of the brush you will find a holder that keeps the brush in the unit. These should turn freely around the brush. If they do not, clean and add a bit of WD40 then manually spin the holders around the brush and reinstall.
Please contact me if these suggestions do not work for you.

Kirby Shampoo system not dispensing foam

Few possible causes

1. Valve under the sponge (water tank) is clogged. Replacement HERE.
2. Tray is now lowered all the way down.
3. You use non-foamy solution.
4. Carpet is very dirty so foam gets broken up very fast

Hope this helps,

Kirby G3 shampooer

Hello,
The Kirby shampoer lays a layer of dry foam on the surface of the carpet and then scrubs it back off with a rotating brushroller. You can get more details of how to use one here...

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you out!!

How do I attach upholstery parts?

Remove the main head and put on the air guard.
Take of the bag assembly and attach the hose.
Mix up the solution in the "Suds o gun".
Attach this to the end of the hose.
When you switch on, foam will dispense from the gun.
Gently sponge this into the furniture.

MY FIRST QUESTION IS WHAT BRAND OF SHAMPOO ARE YOU USING??? KIRBY IS NOTED FOR REQUIRING ONLY, KIRBY SHAMPOO. PART OF THE REASON IS THAT THEY HAVE A UNIQUE FORMULA THAT WORKS SPECIFICALLY WITH THE KIRBY.
THE OTHER POSSIBILITY IS THE DISPENSER IS PLUGGED AND NEEDS A REAL GOOD CLEANING. ALSO, WHEN APPLYING THE FOAM TO THE CARPET, YOU NEED TO GO REALLY, REALLY SLOW.
THE NARROW BAND OF SUDS DOES INDICATE YOU MAY BE MOVING THE DISPENSER TOO FAST. GOOD LUCK.

You are missing the little screen that goes on the small hole in the tank where the shampooer hose attaches to the tank. Read this shampooing instruction guide for more info....

Make sure that the brushes on the shampooer tray are spinning, that the belt is resting on the driveshaft. The suction alone will pull up some of the moisture but the brushes should be spinning to gently scrub the carpet and deposit any excess moisture into the tray.

Is the little suds screen missing from your shampooer tank? It should be covering the hole that the hose plugs onto. Sometimes they also get lodged in the hose sideways.
